Deep Bite Invisalign Moderate Comprehensive Midline Buck Teeth

Invisalign Moderate is a program used for malocclusions that can be treated within 26 aligners. It is, quite literally, in the “middle” position between Invisalign Lite (limited to 14 aligners) and Comprehensive (limited to 99 aligners).

It is difficult to use for extraction orthodontic treatment that takes nearly 2 years, or non-extraction protrusive mouth correction,

but for simple alignment-focused orthodontic treatment, it can be useful at a lower cost than Comprehensive.

The Invisalign Moderate program was launched in Korea less than a year ago. In other words, before that, even cases that were too difficult for Invisalign Lite had to be treated with the Comprehensive program.

Today, I will show you a case that could have been treated with Moderate if the program had existed when treatment started.

This is a middle school student who visited for orthodontic treatment. There is a noticeable difference in the height of the front teeth. The two upper front teeth have come down and look like buck teeth.

The upper teeth cover the lower teeth so much that the lower teeth are barely visible. This is called a deep bite.

This was a condition that was an indication for Invisalign Moderate, but at that time the Moderate program had not yet been launched. So we had no choice but to start with the Invisalign Comprehensive program.

The first set consisted of 26 aligners, and elastic wear was prescribed as well. With 26 aligners, this means it could be treated with the Moderate program.

This is the result after wearing all the aligners from February to September 2024.

The midline still does not match, but the deep bite has been resolved.

The molar bite is not yet perfect.

Alignment is good.

To improve the midline and bite, we proceeded with additional aligner fabrication. After wearing 18 more aligners over 6 months from October 2024 to April 2025, treatment was completed.

The molar bite is a solid Class I.
