Hello.
Some of you may have white spots on your teeth, right?
Today, I’ll share a story about a case of front-tooth white spots that have been present since birth, from the time the teeth first came in.
Today is a treatment review for white spots.

White spots on teeth
White spots are often treated by grinding away the white area and filling it with resin, or by attaching veneers.
Because of the nature of resin material, it may look good at first, but after a few years the edges can darken, and if cavity-causing bacteria penetrate that area, decay can also develop easily.
That means there is the inconvenience of needing periodic replacement, and if secondary decay occurs, the treatment can become more extensive.
Veneers can now be done without grinding down the teeth, so can white spots on teeth also be treated without grinding?
Yes, they can.
This is done by using a medication called ICON and performing resin infiltration.

Small holes that have formed in the teeth
The white areas seen in white spots are caused by enlarged micro-holes on the tooth surface, which makes them appear white.
This is the same condition as early decay, and it usually appears white.
It starts as white, and as the decay gets worse, it goes through a brown stage and then becomes black.
Cavity-causing bacteria enter through these enlarged holes and cause the inside of the tooth to decay.
In particular, when wearing Clippy-C orthodontics, if brushing is not done properly around the wire or brackets, early decay can develop and white spots may appear mottled.
That is why this ICON resin infiltration is also very useful for treating white spots that appear after braces treatment is finished.

After resin infiltration
If special surface treatment is performed on the white spot area and resin infiltration treatment is done, these holes are filled with very fine resin particles, and the white appearance disappears.
It can also block bacterial penetration.

White spots on teeth
A 7-year-old child visited the clinic for treatment of white spots on the front teeth.
There is a large white spot on one of the front teeth.
The surface is treated and resin infiltration is performed.
During treatment, there is absolutely no pain; it only feels like continual rubbing, and the treatment time is about 20 minutes.

The white spot disappeared completely.
Even without grinding the white area or attaching a veneer, it looks very natural and beautiful.
Natural teeth really are the best.

Before / after resin infiltration treatment for white spots on teeth
White spots on teeth can now be treated easily without pain, so please do not leave them untreated any longer.
