Hello,
This is an Invisalign orthodontic clinic in Apgujeong.
If a case has a canine crowding and crossbite, but the molar occlusion is good, good results can also be achieved with Invisalign Lite.
It may be helpful to refer to the previous case posts by Director and Chief Dentist Baek Eui-seon on resolving crossbite and crowding with Invisalign Lite.
Today’s story is similar.

25.03~25.12
This is a case of treating midline discrepancy, crowding, and lateral incisor crossbite with Invisalign Lite.
This patient came in earlier this year for Invisalign treatment.
They had received explanations at another clinic about both extraction and non-extraction full treatment.

25.03
Midline discrepancy, crowding, and crossbite are visible.

A scissors bite is also visible,

and although the front teeth area is rather chaotic, the molar occlusion shows a beautiful Class I relationship by comparison.

Invisalign Lite crossbite
This is a perfect indication for Invisalign Lite.
However, a small amount of interproximal reduction is needed to arrange the front teeth.
After wearing all 14 aligners from the first set from March to August 2025, this is the result.

25.08
Rubber band instructions were also prescribed to improve the crowding, and the metal ring is an attachment placed on the tooth for hooking the elastic.

The crossbite has been resolved, but a step difference between the central and lateral incisors is still visible.

To correct the remaining issues, additional aligners were made.
Treatment was completed after wearing all 10 additional aligners from September to December 2025.

The midline is perfectly aligned, and the front tooth alignment and vertical positions are textbook.

The originally good molar occlusion was well maintained.
Now let’s look at the before-and-after comparison. The total treatment period was 9 months.

25.03~25.12

This shows the result with the retainer in place.
I often get asked whether interproximal reduction makes the teeth too small.
People also worry about sensitivity.

25.03~25.12
As you can see in this photo, the interproximal reduction was not done to the point that the teeth became smaller than at the initial visit.
If it had been done to the point that the teeth looked smaller or became sensitive, then it would mean the interproximal reduction was performed too aggressively.
In general, if it is limited to the enamel layer and performed at the minimum amount of 0.2 mm per site, it can help treatment.
However, if the amount is excessive, it will harm dental health.
As the saying goes, too much is as bad as too little.

Now let’s compare the facial appearance.

25.03~25.12
Invisalign Lite crossbite

25.03~25.12
A subtle improvement in the forward protrusion of the front teeth

25.03~25.12
As the lower front teeth moved back, the lower lip also shifted slightly backward, so although it was not a major change, the lip line became subtly more attractive. It is described as losing the slightly sullen look.
I hope this post is helpful for those considering Invisalign treatment.
