Hello.
Today, let’s take a look at a simple orthodontic case, Invisalign Lite, and think, “Ah, so it can be treated this way too.”

Is there any other dental treatment for which the recommended methods vary as much from clinic to clinic and from doctor to doctor as orthodontics?
Whether to extract or not, whether to do partial orthodontics or full orthodontics—there is no single correct answer, because each treatment has different goals, advantages, and disadvantages.
Even if you were told at another clinic that full orthodontics would take two years, there are many cases where treatment can be completed simply with Invisalign Lite if the treatment goals are set a little more modestly. This is one of those cases.

This is a patient in their late 30s who visited early this year for orthodontic treatment.
A deep bite, where the front teeth bite too deeply.
There is midline discrepancy as well.

The front teeth are protruding quite a bit.

When the upper front teeth protrude significantly, the gap between the upper and lower front teeth becomes larger.
The bite relationship of the upper and lower molars is still close to Class I.

The arch shape is slightly distorted.
In this case, there are roughly two treatment options to consider.
One is a full orthodontic treatment with Invisalign Comprehensive, allowing ample treatment time of two years to improve the protrusion as well.
The other is an Invisalign Lite treatment focused mainly on alignment, creating space through interproximal reduction to address the protrusion and deep bite.
Because the molar relationship is Class I, simple treatment is possible.
Of course, that does not mean interproximal reduction would not be included in option 1.
Given that the patient is in their late 30s, black triangles would appear between the front teeth as alignment improves, and interproximal reduction would be needed to reduce them.
The patient chose Invisalign Lite treatment.

This is the condition after wearing all 14 aligners from the first set between February and June 2025.
The deep bite has mostly improved, and the midline discrepancy has also improved.

Additional aligners were made to further improve the areas that were still lacking in alignment, and treatment was finally completed in December 2025.

The midline has been corrected.

The molar bite shows a Class I relationship.
The front tooth protrusion has improved.
Now, let’s look at the before-and-after comparison.

With the improvement in the deep bite, the lower front teeth are now fully visible.

When the gap between the upper and lower teeth is large due to protruding upper teeth, the lower lip hides in between.
That is why the lower lip looked thin at the initial visit.

After orthodontic treatment, as the upper-lower gap narrowed, the lower lip regained its natural appearance.

Although this was a simple Invisalign Lite treatment that gave up on dramatic protrusion correction, simply improving the front tooth protrusion made the smile look much cleaner.
I hope this post was helpful for those considering orthodontic treatment for similar symptoms.
