Hello.
This is Apgujeong Orthodontic Clinic.
Today, I’ll share a review of front-teeth partial orthodontic treatment for rabbit teeth correction and crossbite in a patient in her 30s.

Today, I’ll talk about a simple front-teeth partial orthodontic case.
This is a female patient in her 30s who visited for orthodontic treatment.

The two front teeth are large, commonly called rabbit teeth.
The lateral incisors on both sides and the left canine show a crossbite, where they bite in the opposite direction against the lower teeth.
The lower front teeth show black triangles.
Black triangles are well known as something that can appear after orthodontic treatment, but if the gums are thin and receded, they can also be present from the beginning like this.

There was no protrusion, and the molar alignment and bite were good, so partial orthodontic treatment for the front teeth was recommended.
However, in order to correct the canine crossbite, appliances had to be attached all the way to the first premolar behind the canine.
We decided to proceed with treatment using MTA mini-tube appliances, and started with appliance placement and alignment.

This is what it looked like five months after treatment began, and the lower treatment was completed one month earlier, so the appliance was removed first.
Elastic bands were also used to resolve the left canine crossbite.
And in January 2025, the appliance was removed six months after treatment began.

Here is a before-and-after comparison.
The left side is before treatment, and the right side is after treatment.

The black triangles on the lower front teeth disappeared during the alignment process after interproximal reduction.

The crossbite of the canine and lateral incisor that had been biting in the opposite direction was resolved, and the bite improved.

If the molar bite is good and there is no protrusion, you can still get very good results with front-teeth partial orthodontic treatment within six months.
