Hello,
This is Apgujeong Orthodontic Clinic.
Today, I’d like to share the orthodontic treatment story of a man in his 40s.

The molar bite was not perfect, but it was in a good condition, and due to time constraints, we decided to do partial orthodontic treatment to align only the front teeth.
Now it was time to choose the appliance.
After considering MTA, an appliance for front tooth orthodontics, and 2D orthodontics, he chose the lingual 2D appliance.
Because it is attached behind the teeth, it is completely invisible from the front during treatment.

This is what it looks like after the appliance is attached.
It is not visible at all from the front.
How long does partial orthodontic treatment take?
The treatment was completed with about 6 visits over 6 months.

After orthodontic treatment, the patient could smile with greater confidence.
I think the psychological benefits gained from orthodontic treatment are also significant.

At the first visit, the front tooth with a crown had red, swollen gums, and they bled even when touched lightly.
Won’t the gums get worse during orthodontic treatment?
Many people worry about this.
When undergoing orthodontic treatment, scaling is done once a month.
Pre-existing gum inflammation can also subside.
In addition to scaling during orthodontic treatment, gum treatment was also performed on the upper front teeth for long-term gum health.
By the final stage, all inflammation had healed.

Another point to note is the gum line.
When teeth are uneven, the gum line tends to be uneven as well.
As the teeth become aligned, the gum line also naturally evens out.
Let’s compare before and after.

It took a total of 6 months.
Depending on the condition, front tooth partial orthodontic treatment can take as little as 3 months or as long as 6 months.
Have you been putting off orthodontic treatment because you thought it would take too long, or because you were busy?
In many cases, even partial orthodontic treatment for the front teeth can have a significant effect.
