Hello
Today I’d like to introduce rabbit teeth orthodontics.

24.03~24.08
I am the guardian of a child patient who had orthodontic treatment.
After the child finished treatment and came in for a regular checkup, the guardian also requested an examination for orthodontic treatment.

24.03
A reverse bite, canines, crowding, and a midline discrepancy were confirmed.

Because the molar bite and alignment were good, it was possible to do partial orthodontic treatment of the front teeth, which places less burden on time and cost.
By performing interproximal reduction, the area where black triangles could occur is minimized, and space can be gained for alignment without flaring the front teeth.
Both Invisalign Lite and 2D or MTA appliances for front tooth partial orthodontic treatment are possible, but
after discussing with the patient, we decided to use an MTA appliance, which is less visible in the upper front teeth, and Clippy C for the lower teeth.
I will show the condition six months after treatment began.
Hooks were also attached for rubber bands that the patient could remove and put on by themselves.
This was to bring the impacted canine into a better position.

24.08
A representative limitation of partial orthodontic treatment for the front teeth is the dental midline.
Because the molars are not moved, the upper and lower midlines often end up slightly misaligned.
However, in cases like this, if the molar bite is symmetrical on both sides and there are no issues with front tooth size, even partial orthodontic treatment can be finished with the midlines aligned.

To eliminate even the slight gap behind the canine, a rubber band hook was attached to the molar, and the treatment was completed without any remaining spaces.

24.03~24.08
After the appliance was removed, a wire retainer was attached.
The alignment has become neat,

24.03~24.08
The reverse bite and crowding were resolved.

24.03~24.08
The originally good molar bite was maintained.
We provide treatment with the goal of achieving the effect of full orthodontic correction through minimal intervention.

24.03~24.08
And finally, a neat, refined smile.

The tooth angles were also finished within the normal range without flaring the front teeth.
One thing many people worry about in orthodontic treatment is interproximal reduction.
The phrase “removing tooth structure” can sound scary.
As with anything, too much can be harmful, and if interproximal reduction is done excessively, the teeth may become sensitive or weak.
However, minimal interproximal reduction, enough to maintain normal tooth angulation, is an essential part of partial orthodontic treatment for the front teeth.
Interproximal reduction can also help prevent black triangles.
In short, it is a part that helps treatment.
The time you think is too late may be the earliest time
Rabbit teeth orthodontics? How long does rabbit teeth orthodontic treatment take?
The total treatment period was six months, from March 2024 to August 2024.
Orthodontic treatment does not necessarily take a long time.
Depending on the patient’s condition, there are many orthodontic cases that do not take very long.
