Hello.
This is Apgujeong Orthodontic Clinic.

23.07~24.05
Today’s post introduces Invisalign Lite for scissor bite and spacing.
This patient came in hoping to resolve a scissor bite with Invisalign Lite.
It was a case that could be treated with Invisalign Lite by placing a miniscrew.

23.07
Treatment was completed after 11 months.
The midline discrepancy, along with the scissor bite where the large back molar on the right side had moved outward, is clearly visible from the front as well.

23.07
You can see the scissor bite of the far back molar on the right side, and on the left side, the gap between the canine and the front teeth.

We addressed all of this with Invisalign Lite and began treatment.
After fully wearing the 14 aligners in the first set over about 5 months from July 2023 to December 2023, this is the result.

23.12
The scissor bite and the spaced area had already been resolved.

23.12
The midline is also well aligned.
To finish the black triangle and the tiny spaces between the teeth, we proceeded with additional aligner fabrication.

23.12
Because the scissor bite had been completely improved in the first set, the miniscrew was removed on the day we decided to make the additional aligners.
I’m sure many of you are curious about what happens to the spot where the miniscrew was removed.
I’ll show you the result at the end.
The additional aligners were ordered in December 2023, and they arrived in January 2024.
After wearing the additional aligners for 4 more months to refine the details and close the tiny spaces, treatment ended in May 2024.

24.05
There is a claim online that Invisalign orthodontic treatment ends with poor bite alignment.
Because of comments like this, many people worry, but Invisalign can produce a good bite.

23.07~24.05
The bite of the right maxillary second molar, which had been in a scissor bite, is also being maintained well.

23.07~24.05
The shape and alignment of the dental arch were well established, and when the aligners were remade, the spot where the miniscrew had been removed healed well and left no trace.
In some cases, a small scar may remain, but in many cases, no scar remains.
I hope this was helpful for those of you undergoing orthodontic treatment or those preparing to start treatment.
