Gapposan Cheongdam, a must-try restaurant from Soo Mi Sik Hoe
Perfect for year-end gatherings!
As December began, it definitely felt like there were more gatherings.
It seemed like plans were getting made no matter whether it was a weekday or weekend.
For this get-together, I wanted a place with a great atmosphere and delicious food, so I visited a Cheongdam restaurant that was even praised on Soo Mi Sik Hoe.

I heard that Gapposan is one of the long-established kappo-style restaurants in Cheongdam-dong.
Kappo cuisine is said to be a style that falls somewhere between kaiseki, a high-end dining style, and izakaya, a tavern-style cuisine.
I had the Gapposan course meal properly!
(Warning: the photos are all out of order!)

I didn’t take photos of every dish that came out..ㅠㅠ..
That’s the biggest regret..!
This is a soup made with truffle mushrooms,
and I heard it was blended with various mushrooms in addition to truffle mushrooms.
I had really been looking forward to truffles, which I had only seen on TV, and it was truly delicious.

Next after the soup was maguro tartare!
It had a clean, healthy flavor, and I burst out laughing when I saw the wasabi under the leafㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ so cute
First of all, because the plating itself had such a colorful palette,
it looked so pretty and bright!
It was almost too pretty to mix..ㅠㅠ...
At Cheongdam Gapposan, I could really feel that they put a lot of care into the plating as well as the taste of every dish, which made it even better :-)
Still, I had to eat it, so I mixed it with the vegetables and wrapped it up with seaweed and ate it chomping away.

This menu item was said to be one of the dishes selected by Soo Mi Sik Hoe.
When I visited, they even put sweet cotton candy on top of the kani miso aeㅜㅜ!
It was made with snow crab, crab innards, and cream sauce,
and it was exactly my kind of dish..ㅠㅠㅠ...
On top of that, it also had dried enoki mushrooms, so it was a dish with a fun texture too.
Gapposan, a Soo Mi Sik Hoe restaurant that added even more enjoyment to the eyes

The dish I had been most looking forward to before going to Gapposan in Cheongdam was the sashimi moriawase!!!!!!!!
I had read that the sashimi had been aged really well, giving it incredible depth of flavor..ㅠㅠ...
People said it was truly refined and delicious, so I was very excited, and I enjoyed it just as much as I had hoped.

I loved that the food was brought out right as I was finishing each dish,
so the flow never got interrupted.
Just like it was shown on Soo Mi Sik Hoe,
the avocado tempura felt like an original and creative dish!
I’ve heard people say even shoes would taste good if fried, but I don’t think I had ever thought of frying an avocado before.

Starting with the appetizers that came out first,
I tried one thing after another, and I became really excited for the dishes that would come next.
I once had futomaki at an omakase place before, and I remember it being too fishy and not tasty, so after that I never really reached for futomaki again.
A friend I went with to Gapposan said it wasn’t fishy and was really delicious, so I reluctantly tried one, and it was genuinely delicious..ㅠㅠ..
Can futomaki really be this good,,?

I had a proper time enjoying the black garlic Iberico grill as well,
at this Cheongdam restaurant, Gapposan!
This time I had the course meal,
but next time, I think it would be really nice to try various à la carte dishes.
A place that seems perfect for a special day like an anniversary
or for a year-end gathering too!
I ate very well :-)
