After anesthesia, when 2 to 3 hours have passed, you will start to feel warmth as the anesthesia wears off.
Dental anesthesia is local anesthesia that numbs only the area being treated. If you feel sleepy or sluggish, it is not because of the anesthesia; it is only a psychological response that happens as the tension from treatment eases, and it has nothing to do with dental anesthesia.

When dental anesthesia is used, not only the tooth being treated but also the surrounding cheek, tongue, gums, and other areas are numb. Therefore, if you chew food before the anesthesia wears off, you may accidentally bite the inside of your cheek or your tongue, so you should be careful.

In young children, they may not realize that their lips are numb and may chew on them playfully or scratch and tear them with their nails. Even when putting them to sleep, they may bite their own lips while half-asleep, so you should check on them often.

If a child is hungry, it is safer to give milk or a drink they can sip rather than something to chew until the anesthesia wears off.

If you do not follow the precautions and swelling or ulcers develop, you will have to suffer for about a week.
