Chief Director Lee Jang-wook
Hello.
For a healthy smile,
we do our best
at Etoile de Seoul Dental Clinic.
Today, I would like to share a special story about one of the patients I met. I hope many people can find hope through this story.
Sometimes, after finishing treatment and heading home, I find myself wondering what people who come to the dental clinic near Gangnam-gu Office Station might be feeling. They are not simply coming to fix a painful tooth; they probably want to regain the preciousness of everyday life they once lost.
Being able to enjoy delicious food, talk comfortably with family, and smile with confidence—those ordinary yet happy moments. So today, I’d like to share the moving recovery story of someone who regained that kind of daily life. I hope you, too, can find a small seed of hope in this story.
We take care of your dental health.
An unforgettable story

This is the story of Mr. Kim Young-ho (60), who came to us last spring. When I first met him, his expression looked truly worn down. The pain he had endured while wearing dentures for more than 20 years was plainly visible on his face.
"Director, I really feel like giving up now. Every morning when I wake up, my dentures hurt so much that I can’t even speak properly, and eating is a chore. When my grandson asks me to hold him, I want to smile at him, but my mouth hurts so much that I can’t even smile properly..."
I still vividly remember the words he said with tears in his eyes. He especially said that spending time with his family had become painful. He said he could hardly even imagine eating hard foods, and because his dentures made his pronunciation unclear, his grandsons often couldn’t understand what he was saying.
His wife came with him and said this: "Because my husband can’t sleep at night from the pain, I worry so much that I can’t sleep either. In our 40 years together, this is the first time I’ve seen him struggle like this..."
A small beginning of hope
I introduced him to a method called full-arch implants. Rather than placing many implants like conventional full-mouth implants, this approach uses 4 to 6 implants, and the appropriate method is determined according to each individual’s condition. Above all, he liked the fact that a temporary prosthesis could be placed immediately on the day of surgery, meaning there was no time without teeth.
"Really? You mean I can have teeth put in right after the surgery? Then I can smile in front of my grandsons without feeling embarrassed..."
That was the first time I saw a spark of hope in his eyes. As I explained that the procedure would be performed using a no-incision method with a 3D navigation system and that it could help restore chewing power close to that of natural teeth, he gradually opened up.
The start of a miracle-like change

On the day of surgery, it was truly amazing. I saw him smile brightly for the first time after the temporary prosthesis was placed.
"Oh? It really doesn’t feel uncomfortable. Is this really in my mouth?"
Thanks to the 3D navigation system, the implants could be placed with precision, and the no-incision method helped reduce swelling and pain. He was able to eat soft foods starting the day after surgery, and one week later he said, "This is the first time in 20 years I’ve slept this comfortably."
He also restarted his small shop, which he had run for 30 years near the dental clinic by Gangnam-gu Office Station. He was so happy to hear that his pronunciation had become clearer when talking with customers that they told him, "Boss, your voice sounds so much better."

The family’s joy
On the day of the 30-day follow-up, when the prosthesis was placed, his wife came with him and said this: "Director, thank you so much. My husband smiles every day these days. The grandsons say Grandpa has changed. It’s been a long time since he first suggested that we go eat meat together."
He said he can now peel and eat apples, and freely enjoy squid and even nuts. The happiest moment, he said, was when he shared birthday cake with his grandson and heard, "Grandpa, you really seem to be eating deliciously now!"
Another story of hope

Ms. Park Soon-rye (65), who visited around the same time, also left a strong impression on me. She had given up her church choir activities because of dentures, but after full-arch implants, she returned to the choir. "Director, now I can sing high notes with confidence. Thank you so much for letting me praise God again."
I feel that many people who come to the dental clinic near Gangnam-gu Office Station are not simply looking for dental treatment, but want to regain the happiness of everyday life they had lost. They want to enjoy food deliciously, talk comfortably with their families, and smile with confidence.

Don’t give up hope
Every time I hear stories like these, my heart is deeply moved. There are so many people suffering because of their teeth, but if they receive appropriate treatment, they can certainly regain a happy daily life.
Full-arch implants may, depending on the individual’s condition, be possible even for people with insufficient jawbone, without bone grafting in some cases. Above all, this method uses 4 to 6 implants, and the appropriate approach is determined according to each individual’s condition.
Are you currently struggling because of dentures? Or are you worried because you have lost many teeth? Even someone like Mr. Kim Young-ho, who endured it for more than 20 years, was able to begin a new life. And Ms. Park Soon-rye was able to resume activities she had once given up.
Of course, results vary from person to person, but with proper care and regular checkups, they can be used for a long time. We provide regular checkups and care services within 3 years, so you can receive treatment with greater peace of mind.

What I feel every day when meeting patients in the clinic is that dental health is not just a tooth problem. It is directly connected to happy time with family, confident social life, and the joy of enjoying delicious food in everyday life.
There are many people passing by around the dental clinic near Gangnam-gu Office Station, each living their own lives. Among them, there may be those who are struggling because of their teeth. To those people, I want to say this clearly: please do not give up hope.
Seeing Mr. Kim Young-ho smile while eating meat with his grandsons, and Ms. Park Soon-rye singing again in the choir, moved me deeply as well. These moments are the biggest reason I do this work.
You, too, will soon be able to meet such happy moments. I hope you have a healthy and happy day today. At the dental clinic near Gangnam-gu Office Station, we will always support your healthy smile.
