In particular, over the not-short 18 years, while experiencing numerous cases in orthodontics, esthetic prosthetics, veneers, and implants, I always had one question in my mind.

“How can we make patients truly satisfied?”

To find the answer, I always listened closely to patients’ stories.

I listened to patients not only in the actual treatment room but also through YouTube.

And as time passed, there was one thing I came to know for certain.

The way to give patients the greatest satisfaction is

So today, I would like to candidly share the three principles that I and Smile D Dental Clinic have consistently upheld for 18 years.

1. A Thorough and Careful Treatment Process Dental treatment can sometimes end with a short procedure, but there are many processes, such as orthodontics or veneers, that must continue over a long period.

I believe that each and every step in this process determines patient satisfaction.

For example, in the case of clear aligners (Invisalign), the key is to design and predict in advance how the patient’s teeth will move.

This is because only by carefully analyzing the angle and speed of tooth movement, as well as the bite condition, can the desired result be achieved.

Also, veneers require minimizing the amount of tooth reduction while achieving esthetic harmony, and that is impossible without thorough advance planning and a delicate touch.

That is why not only I but also the other directors providing treatment carefully check and coordinate every stage, from the initial consultation to the final step.

As a result, even if discomfort arises during treatment or unexpected variables occur, we have been able to continue providing care that allows patients to feel at ease.

2. Patient-Centered Care I do not give every patient the same answer.

That is because each patient’s dental condition, age, occupation, lifestyle pattern, and desired goals are all different.

For some, clear aligners such as Invisalign may be appropriate,

while for others, wire braces may be much more efficient.

For those who place greater importance on esthetic improvement, veneers may be needed, while for those whose priority is functional recovery, another prosthetic treatment may be necessary.

So the treatment principle of our Smile D Dental Clinic medical staff is as follows.

Rather than the method that is convenient for the clinic,

the method that is truly suitable for the patient

Accordingly, we listen 충분히 to the patient’s story during consultation, explain everything so that they can understand the entire treatment process, and then make the decision together.

Even if that process sometimes takes longer, we believe it is ultimately the path that will lead to true patient satisfaction.

3. Responsible Treatment In fact, no treatment always goes exactly according to plan.

Unexpected difficulties may arise midway, and patients may sometimes experience discomfort.

However, I believe that those are precisely the moments when a doctor must show true responsibility.

So we always treat patients with the mindset of “taking responsibility to the very end.”

Even after treatment ends, we stay with our patients by carefully checking whether there is any discomfort and whether the expected results are being maintained well.

It is not simply about providing treatment,

but because we believe our role is to help patients continue to feel satisfaction and happiness in their lives even after treatment is over.

What I have learned from meeting countless patients so far is

that what patients ultimately want most is “not having to worry about the same problem again.”

So I always listen to patients’ stories, find the most appropriate method, and promise treatment that takes responsibility to the very end.

For us, a patient’s smile is not just a result; it is the reason I continue this work and my greatest reward.
