metal brackets stand out too much...

Invisalign pain: is it really less painful?
This is the question many people are most curious about.
“Isn’t there still some Invisalign pain...?”
That’s right.
We can’t say there is no Invisalign pain at all.
But compared with metal bracket orthodontics, it tends to hurt much less.
Invisalign uses transparent plastic appliances that are custom-made for each person,
without wires or brackets.

These appliances are replaced every 7 to 10 days,
and during the first 1 to 3 days after each replacement, you may feel tightness or a pulling sensation in the teeth.
Usually, this Invisalign pain is more like a slight throbbing feeling when pressed by hand,
or a bit of pressure when chewing food, rather than pain that makes daily life difficult.
Most importantly,
there is no irritation from wires poking the inside of the mouth and causing sores or cuts,
and no irritation caused by brackets coming loose.

Because of this, children often adapt more quickly, and they also feel less psychological burden.
In fact, elementary and middle school students who visit Smile D Dental Clinic
are able to maintain their daily routines while wearing the appliance after about 3 to 5 days.
Even some sensitive children are able to continue their daily lives without much discomfort after some time.
Also, because Invisalign is removable, the appliance can be taken out during meals and brushing,
making oral hygiene management easier, which can be an advantage for children.

Invisalign First,
can its effectiveness be trusted?
Invisalign First is a clear aligner developed specifically for growing children around ages 6 to 10 who have not yet fully erupted their permanent teeth.

Traditional metal orthodontics often focus on aligning the teeth,
but First has the difference of allowing a treatment plan that also considers jaw growth and dental development.
For example,
- when the front teeth have started to overlap
- when there does not seem to be enough space for the permanent teeth
- when the upper and lower jaw positions are not harmonious
Starting orthodontic treatment during the growth period
can help shorten the treatment period and prevent jawbone problems.
At Smile D Dental Clinic,
we use a 3D scanner to accurately analyze the child’s dentition and oral structure,
and establish a customized orthodontic plan for each individual.
In particular, specialists with extensive experience in more than 4,000 orthodontic cases set the direction of treatment through collaboration,
and we provide care that aims for a high level of completion not only in alignment but also in final bite and function.
In addition, discussions can be made about cavities or whether extraction is needed during treatment, which is why parents tend to be highly satisfied.
Invisalign wear
However, treatment effectiveness depends greatly on the child’s cooperation, that is, how long the appliance is worn.
So before starting treatment, it is also important to understand the child’s personality and lifestyle patterns.
During the first consultation, we provide enough explanation and counseling for both the parents and the child
to decide on treatment at the appropriate timing and in the appropriate way.
Invisalign First is an orthodontic option that children can adapt to well.
It is an orthodontic option that is less noticeable, reduces psychological 부담, and still maintains effectiveness,
which is why many parents prefer it these days.

If you’re wondering whether Invisalign First is the right treatment for your child,
you can receive a thorough explanation through a consultation appointment before your visit.
We will help you with a customized consultation that takes your child’s personality and oral condition into account.
