"The double eyelid line looks droopy overall."
"The wrinkles around my eyes are so severe that my mom has been feeling depressed all the time. If possible, I want her to get it done at a 'famous upper blepharoplasty clinic,' but is there a selection criterion?"

Upper blepharoplasty refers to a procedure that partially removes the skin of the drooping upper eyelid caused by aging, then creates a double eyelid.
It can also be performed on people who already have double eyelids, but it is generally recommended for those with hidden double eyelids or no double eyelids, so the before-and-after change can be relatively noticeable.
If you already have a complex about it, you might think, "This is a good chance to improve aging and create double eyelids at the same time!" But when we see patients coming in for consultations, that is not always the case.
For example, men often say things like, "If I suddenly end up with double eyelids at my age, people might say I look too sharp..." or "I work in sales and meet a lot of people, so I'm worried it will look too obvious that I had surgery."
Our doctors at Ribbon Plastic Surgery are also now in middle age as we continue to run the clinic, so they fully understand the concerns of people who have these worries.
That is why we continue to study and work hard to provide upper blepharoplasty that is never 부담스럽지 and remains natural even in middle age.
At Ribbon Plastic Surgery, we perform upper blepharoplasty with the goal of [preserving the existing eye shape].
We correct the issue of drooping eyelids that make you look older, while creating a very natural double eyelid line to deliver positive results regardless of whether the patient is a middle-aged woman or man.

▶ What is upper blepharoplasty?
Skin aging progresses rapidly starting in the late 20s. So once you enter your 30s, a loss of elasticity begins to appear, and as time passes, this problem becomes even more severe.
Among facial areas, the eyelids have extremely thin skin and move much more than other areas of the face, so sagging becomes more noticeable.
Upper blepharoplasty is generally recommended for middle-aged people in their 40s and 50s or older.
Because the degree of aging varies from person to person, some people may need upper blepharoplasty even in their early 40s, while others may not need it even after their 50s if they have maintained their skin well.
What matters is that you should consider it at least once when drooping eyelids make your overall impression look tired or create a stuffy look by blocking your field of vision.
Of course, if there are no functional issues with the eyes, upper blepharoplasty can be chosen according to the patient's needs.
Upper blepharoplasty is completed by making an incision along the double eyelid line, removing wrinkled skin and unnecessary fat, and then suturing along the double eyelid line.
At this point, the double eyelid issue mentioned earlier can arise; if the incision is too extensive, a thicker double eyelid line than before may be created.
These days, it is important to finish the surgery naturally so that it looks as if you had surgery or not, so in such cases we may apply a method that removes tissue with a minimal incision and then finishes with a non-incisional double eyelid technique.
Many people think, "Isn't upper blepharoplasty only done with the incisional method?" But that is not the case.
This is a method directly developed by our doctors based on long experience with over 10,000 eye surgeries, so if you value natural results, it may be worth having a consultation. :)

▶ Please be especially careful about this.
Some people rush into upper blepharoplasty because their eyelids are severely drooping.
In such cases, they often choose the cheapest place possible or visit a plastic surgery clinic close to home, get a quick consultation, and then schedule the surgery date.
Upper blepharoplasty is certainly important for securing your field of vision, but since it is surgery on the eyes, it is important to choose a plastic surgery clinic that understands the anatomical structures of the eye well and can create a suitable eye shape for you.
Please remember that this is a procedure in which good results appear when both functional and aesthetic aspects are carefully considered.
See you in the next post. Thank you. :)
