I had been saying I wanted to drink makgeolli, and after two months, I finally went to have some.
It was a get-together made because I wanted makgeolli, but more important than the makgeolli is that the food has to be delicious too. Through my search, the place that immediately gave me a good feeling was Wolsunne, located at Exit 2 of Apgujeong Station.
At first, just looking at the food photos made me feel like it would be delicious, so I chose it without much hesitation. Half of the reason was that, after enjoying the meal, it was in a convenient location for getting home by public transportation. To give the conclusion first, it is a place I can confidently introduce as a great restaurant near Apgujeong Station.
Each of us chose one menu item we wanted to eat.
The side dishes that came out after ordering were the kind of banchan you might taste at home, and they were so good that we refilled the dongchimi and pickled onions several times.
Even before the main dishes came out, the side dishes were all so delicious that I had a sip of makgeolli first. In a way, the dongchimi, yeolmu kimchi, and pickled onions served as side dishes all paired really well with makgeolli. That may be why the makgeolli tasted even sweeter.
Jipyeongsaeng Makgeolli, which beat Seoul Jangsu Makgeolli!! Once you try Jipyeongsaeng, you can’t drink other makgeolli.

This chive pancake goes so well with makgeolli.
It is not a makgeolli specialty restaurant, but if you look at the keywords for Wolsunne Apgujeong Branch, makgeolli comes up enough that many people go there specifically to drink makgeolli. That’s why there are so many kinds of jeon.
Among them, we chose the chive pancake, and it was really delicious. Actually, pancakes are often only tasty when they’re warm, but Wolsunne’s chive pancake was still delicious even after it cooled down. Also, it didn’t seem to have much flour or batter, which I liked because it had a chewy texture too.

While we were enjoying the chive pancake, the steamed hongeo arrived.
I never imagined I would order steamed hongeo, but the friend who ordered this menu said they had been craving it for several days. Personally, I had tried hongeo before, so I didn’t feel put off by it, but one person in our group had never tried it, so I was a little worried. Still, the fermented flavor of the hongeo was present to some extent without being too strong, so it was a steamed hongeo that even beginners could enjoy.
The steamed hongeo was more of a game changer than I expected. It was really, really delicious. The seasoning was good too.

And this is the bossam we ordered.
While searching for a makgeolli restaurant near Apgujeong Station, I found Wolsunne, and among the dishes many people ordered, bossam seemed to be the next most popular after jeon. So we ordered the bossam!
I could understand why people order it.
It was tender and had no unpleasant smell, so I enjoyed it. However, one thing that was a little disappointing was that instead of bossam kimchi, it came with shredded radish salad. The shredded radish salad was less moist and not as well seasoned as I expected, so it was actually tastier to eat it with the yeolmu kimchi served as a side dish.
When eating bossam, the key is arguably the bossam kimchi, after all.

At Wolsunne, a great restaurant near Apgujeong Station that I visited because I was craving makgeolli, we tried three main dishes, and each one was delicious. Since we met in the evening, it felt like something was still missing, so we ordered cheonggukjang from the meal menu.
The cheonggukjang was rich, but the smell wasn’t too strong, so it was really good as a soup.
That made me think, how could everything be this delicious?
I decided that I need to come back for lunch sometime soon.

I visited Wolsunne, a great restaurant near Apgujeong Station, because I wanted makgeolli, and it ended up being even more delicious than I expected. I’m glad I was able to add one more place to my list of great restaurants near Apgujeong Station.
