Apgujeong Wansangol Sundae Gukbap, Without the Sundae~~

The sun is still strong, but I could definitely feel that the breeze had turned cooler, and that made me crave something warm and soupy. So I visited Wansangol once again, a place that serves Jeonju bean sprout gukbap and blood sausage, which I had reviewed before.

Last time I had the bean sprout gukbap, but this time I wanted to try the sundae gukbap without the blood sausage. Even while eating the bean sprout gukbap, I had thought that I should come back next time and have the sundae gukbap.

The basic side dishes were the same. Salted shrimp, which goes well with sundae gukbap, was also served... But as you can tell from the title, I ordered the sundae gukbap without the sundae, so I actually didn’t really need the salted shrimp. Still, it was already set out, so I took it. The dried radish strips here are truly delicious. Instead of asking for a refill of the radish kimchi or kimchi, I asked for another helping of the dried radish strips.

There are shredded seaweed flakes placed on the table, and I think those are probably meant for the bean sprout gukbap. Still, I thought it might be nice to add a little to the bowl of rice and try it, but I skipped it this time. Because I was planning to enjoy Wansangol’s sundae gukbap properly.

Finally, the sundae gukbap arrived. Depending on how I feel that day, I sometimes have the sundae in it and sometimes ask for it to be left out, but today I wanted to eat it without the sundae. Usually, when you ask to have the sundae left out, they add more head meat, but there are also places that don’t add extra head meat, which can be disappointing. At Apgujeong Wansangol, though, they generously added a lot of head meat. It was so much that I even wondered if it was really okay to give this much. At Wansangol, I think I should have the sundae gukbap without the sundae rather than the bean sprout gukbap. Whenever I want it without the sundae, I should come here.

You can tell just from the empty bowl that it was really delicious. I didn’t expect to finish even the broth completely, but as I kept eating, it was so tasty that I ended up drinking every last bit. It had really been a long time since I saw the bottom of a bowl like this....

Ordering the sundae gukbap at Apgujeong Wansangol without the sundae was truly a brilliant choice. Being able to enjoy so much head meat feels like a great happiness.
