Today I’m always 고민ing over what to eat, but I think that kind of 고민 is really a happy one. While having that happy 고민, I started thinking maybe I should eat Chinese food. Actually, on this day I wasn’t particularly in the mood for jajangmyeon or jjamppong, so I kept wondering if I should get something else. After thinking it over and over, someone suggested Chinese cold noodles, and since I didn’t really have anything else in mind, I ordered Chinese cold noodles. And so, once again, I enjoyed a happy lunch with Chinese food today.
It’s the only place where I can place a delivery order by phone, so when lunchtime is approaching and I can’t really think of anything to eat, this is a place I often order from. Since you can place orders by phone rather than through a delivery app, even a single bowl of jajangmyeon can be delivered here, which is one of its strengths!!
In short, it’s the Chinese restaurant our hospital regularly orders from. Their jajangmyeon has a thinner black bean sauce than other places, so even if the noodles get a little soft, you can still mix in plenty of sauce and eat it well.

When ordering Chinese food for delivery, this half-and-half menu is really one of the most beautiful options. When you want jajangmyeon, sweet and sour pork, and jjamppong all at once, but you’re ordering alone and can’t get everything, this half-and-half menu feels like an oasis in the desert!!
And even when we order like this, we always seem to end up ordering the same things: a single serving of jajangmyeon, and the half-and-half with sweet and sour pork and jajangmyeon. Looking at that, I think this place can be called a jajangmyeon specialty spot.
The sweet and sour pork is the basic wheat-flour kind, not the glutinous-rice kind. The batter isn’t hard, but it also isn’t especially crispy; it’s just the familiar standard sweet and sour pork coating, and the sauce is sweet, so it’s perfect for sharing piece by piece.

And then there were the fried dumplings and dim sum they gave us as a free extra!! Since we ordered a lot of onions, they really brought a lot. The combination of jajangmyeon and fried dumplings needs no explanation.

And finally, it was my first time trying Chinese cold noodles. I had seen Chinese cold noodles on Chinese restaurant menus, but I’d never ordered them because I didn’t know what they’d be like. I ordered them after being told they tasted good, and it was such a refreshing eye-opener. I had no idea that the sauce for Chinese cold noodles would be based on peanut sauce. But this peanut-sauce broth tastes somewhat like kongguksu, and at the same time it’s slightly sweet, with a flavor somewhat similar to peanut jam. You might think it wouldn’t go well with water, but it surprisingly works so well. And why does it go so well with the noodles too? If I had eaten it inside the Chinese restaurant, I think I would have asked for a little more peanut sauce so it could be richer, because the broth got a bit thinner as the ice melted.

The toppings in the Chinese cold noodles include jellyfish, shrimp, sea cucumber, squid, carrot, and cucumber, and I think it would be a really nice dish to enjoy once in a while as a special treat. It was the day I quickly fell in love with the Chinese cold noodles I tried for the first time. The lunch I had with Chinese food was truly perfect.
