There used to be so many Chinese restaurants, but these days it seems like you see more hot pot or malatang places than Chinese restaurants. Because of that, it can be hard to find the Chinese restaurants people used to easily order from or visit in busy commercial areas, but there is one Chinese restaurant at Apgujeong Station that has been operating in the same spot for a long time.
Myeonggung is the kind of Chinese restaurant we all know, and it is also a place that serves the old-style sweet and sour pork.
If I had to name the best thing about a Chinese restaurant, I think it would be delivery. These days, though, you have to order through a delivery app, so sometimes the food arrives too late and the noodles get all soggy. At Apgujeong Station’s old Chinese restaurant Myeonggung, they can deliver directly, which is nice, so I usually order delivery. But on this day, I went to the restaurant in person to get some vitamin D synthesis too.
The smell of a Chinese restaurant is already noticeable from the exterior!!!

After ordering, the basic side dishes are prepared. If you order delivery, only pickled radish and onions are provided, but if you visit Myeonggung in person, they also serve jja-sae and kimchi.

Even though Chinese restaurants have a wide variety of menu items, it feels like there are only a handful of dishes people usually order.
At Apgujeong Station’s old Chinese restaurant Myeonggung, the meal menu and the dish menu are varied, and the prices seem reasonable too.

At Apgujeong Station’s old Chinese restaurant Myeonggung, the answer was to eat there in person.
Still, I’ll probably end up ordering delivery more often, but when I visited and ate there myself, they gave us dumplings and spring rolls even though I had only ordered meal items.
They are served according to the number of people, so each person gets one.
Deep-fried dumplings really need no explanation. Since they were warm, they tasted even better.

I had planned to order jjambbong or jajangmyeon, but since I wanted rice, I ordered mapo tofu.
I think mapo tofu is surprisingly good. It also has a slightly spicy taste.
I didn’t know when ordering, but when I paid, I saw that it was the menu of the day.
At Apgujeong Station’s old Chinese restaurant Myeonggung, there is a daily special every day, and you can eat that day’s menu for 1,000 won off.
Since I didn’t order it knowing that, it feels like a pretty good deal.

Next is seafood jjambbong.
I ordered seafood jjambbong because I wanted something spicy, and it had visible hot peppers in it.
The soup was very rich and spicy, and I really liked it.
I guess you could say I got to enjoy the deep flavor of a Chinese restaurant!!
