Can surgery create attractive uneven eyes like a celebrity’s?
Hello.
This is once again EH Ear Nose and Throat Plastic Surgery.
If double eyelids exist on only one eye, the face can show both softness and charisma at the same time, which may make the eyes seem attractive. However, it can also disrupt the overall balance of the face and give an unnatural impression, so asymmetry caused by uneven eyes can become a complex, leading people to want to improve it.
Everyone has some degree of unevenness in their eyes, but if the asymmetry is severe, surgical correction may also be helpful.

Uneven eyes can be present from birth or develop later in life.
Reasons uneven eyes occur
When the skin length from the eyelid to the eyebrow differs between the two sides
When the amount of fat in each eye differs
When the degree of protrusion of the eyeballs differs between the two sides
When the position of the cheekbones differs between the two sides

Which celebrities have uneven eyes?

In the case of Kang Dong-won and BTS's V, the appearance varies slightly from photo to photo, but usually a faint double crease appears on the left side, making it look like a double eyelid. The right eye looks relatively smaller. The reason is that the right cheekbone sits slightly higher than the left, so the eye tends to be more covered and looks smaller. Also, in the case of the left eye, a slight crease forms and the eyelid may curl inward a little, making the left eye look somewhat larger.
In the case of Joo Ji-hoon, the left eye appears slightly larger. It seemed to look asymmetrical because he uses the left side of his forehead a little more.

In the case of Kim Tae-ri, it would not be accurate to say that the asymmetry is severe. This degree of asymmetry is something everyone has to some extent.
Red Velvet's Joy appears to have double-eyelid-like creases on both eyes, but to be precise, they cannot really be called double eyelids. So when both sides have a crease, they appear somewhat symmetrical, but when only one side shows it, they appear asymmetrical.
In the case of NMIXX's Sullyoon, the right crease is slightly higher and the outer corner of the eye is also lifted, so the right eye may look larger and appear uneven.

Asymmetrical uneven eyes can result from differences in the skull structure, eyebrow position, degree of eyeball protrusion, or the strength used to open the eyes. Taking those factors into account, if the difference is too severe, surgery can be used to match both sides more symmetrically. Therefore, to improve uneven eyes, the cause must be carefully analyzed according to the type of unevenness a person has, and correction should be performed with the appropriate surgical method.

What if the celebrity photo you brought as a reference
has uneven eyes?

It is important to remember that the image you bring is only for reference and cannot be used to create exactly the same eyes. Among celebrities with uneven eyes, the reason Kang Dong-won and BTS's V were mentioned earlier look uneven is not because of surgery.

During the consultation, we explain what differences there are between the celebrity eyes you brought in and your own, and identify which parts can be adopted and applied. But if the skeletal structure is completely different, we explain that as well, and then describe a suitable design that can be applied to the patient while also explaining that it can harmonize with the overall face. Therefore, through a one-on-one consultation, a plan should be established with an appropriate design and method that can balance the patient's needs and the specialist's opinion, in order to achieve satisfying results.

Asymmetry may arise from various causes, such as congenital problems due to ptosis, trauma, neuropathic factors, or tumors. It is also good to proceed while taking into account various conditions such as the skeletal structure, eyebrow position, skin thickness, and degree of eyeball protrusion.
If you have already had surgery once and ended up with uneven eyes, it is necessary to identify the underlying cause of the unevenness and plan the appropriate surgical method accordingly.

If uneven eyes developed later in life, differences in acquired scars, the degree of adhesion, and the amount of skin removed must be taken into consideration.

Surgical methods and solutions should be determined by considering both congenital and acquired factors together, so that asymmetry in uneven eyes can be corrected into symmetry.
