I’d like to introduce a device called Profound, which can deliver powerful results with just one treatment session.

When it comes to devices that use strong energy to create a lifting effect, Ulthera and Thermage are the most representative.

The device I’m talking about today, Profound, may be unfamiliar to many of you. It is a lifting device that uses radiofrequency, made by the American laser equipment company Candela, and it delivers a high temperature of 67 degrees into the dermis for 3 seconds.

Profound is a bipolar needle RF device that uses a long pulse. Needles bent at a 25-degree angle are inserted into the dermis at a depth of 2 mm.

At this point, the device measures resistance impedance in real time and raises the temperature of the tissue around the tip of the inserted needle to 67 degrees.

A cooling plate is attached above the epidermis where the needle is inserted, and the needle inserted into the skin is insulated up to 3 mm, so it can protect the skin from the risk of burns while delivering strong heat to the dermis.

RF is generated at 67 degrees for 3 to 5 seconds from the inserted needle tip.

When it comes to devices that raise the temperature of the dermis using radiofrequency, one that may come to mind is Thermage, the 대표적인 one.

Profound also delivers radiofrequency; only the method differs, but the post-treatment effect is similar to Thermage.
