If it is uncomfortable
It is not healthy
When we talk about health, we often think of it in connection with having a disease, going to the hospital for treatment or management, taking medicine, getting injections, and so on.
In other words, we tend to think that we have lost our health when we can literally say that we are “sick.” But you do not have to have a clearly painful area somewhere in order to say you are sick. If you feel discomfort while going about your normal daily life, that can also be connected to poor health. This is why it is not easy to casually say to someone considering surgery to remove an axillary breast, “Is it really such a big deal if you look a little fleshy?”
Even if it is truly nothing more than weight gain or a bit of extra fat, if the person concerned feels discomfort about it, then it should be considered not just a matter of aesthetics but also a matter of health.
Something
in the armpit

When watching films in genres like SF, dystopia, or apocalypse, there are scenes we often come across. They involve some unknown thing entering the human body and settling somewhere to do harm. Seen as fantasy in a movie, novel, or comic, it is thrilling and exciting, but if it were to happen in reality, it would be a very frightening sight.
When we think about it, the part under the arm, the armpit area, is generally expected to be flat or slightly hollow. But if it bulges outward and sometimes even feels like a lump inside, it can understandably feel a little scary. Of course, it is usually not a factor that has a severely harmful effect on the body. That is because an axillary breast is leftover accessory breast tissue that remained after being formed during fetal development.
An uncomfortable and painful
armpit

As mentioned, the armpit is not originally an area that is supposed to bulge outward. So people with this feature tend to worry a lot about their body shape first. Since it is not just extra fat but tissue that remained from the breast gland, the problem is that, like the breast, it droops and sags as time passes, becoming more noticeable.
As time goes by, it becomes more visible, and it also becomes harder to dress the way you want. Again, the discomfort is not limited to appearance alone.
It can actually hurt as well. Women will likely have various experiences with menstrual pain, and among them, many may have symptoms where the breasts feel unusually swollen, heavy, uncomfortable, and tingling or painful during their period. If you imagine that happening in the armpit as well, it would be quite difficult, wouldn’t it? Likewise, after giving birth, some people also experience engorgement in the axillary area. Thinking about how some people suffer severe engorgement and experience a great deal of pain, it is not something to take lightly. More importantly, the fact that breast disease can also develop from the breast tissue in the armpit as a root cause can be another concern.
It means carrying a greater risk of disease than others.
First,
you have to identify the target

There have been many differing opinions about surgery. Since this is also viewed as another small breast, some have said that the internal breast tissue must be addressed in order to remove it properly. However, many people have generally felt that they do not want to create unnecessary scars, and since it looks like simple fat in the armpit, methods such as liposuction would be enough.
These days, if you ask which of the two is correct, the trend is to see both as potentially correct.
This is because, in the first place, the degree to which breast tissue or fat contributes to creating a bulging armpit differs from person to person, and the influence each has can also vary. Since this is a matter of probability, it is difficult to estimate in advance based on size or symptoms alone, and it can only be determined by taking an X-ray. Looking inside this way, some people suffer quite a bit from pain even though fat makes up a considerable proportion, while others have a lot of breast tissue but have lived without any particular discomfort.
In the end, it must be examined directly and identified. Only by confirming the type and characteristics can the appropriate solution be planned accordingly.
Methods that change
by type

If an X-ray confirms whether the armpit contains mostly fat, making it a fat type, or mostly breast tissue, making it a glandular type, the surgical method for the axillary breast is then determined accordingly.
In the fat type, the breast tissue has almost completely regressed and most of it is made up of fat. Since this fat creates the bulging shape and sagging appearance, liposuction alone can improve it and restore a smooth armpit. Because liposuction involves only very small incisions and does not deeply manipulate internal tissue, pain and side effects tend to be minimal.
On the other hand, in the glandular type, where the breast tissue is densely present, excision of the unnecessary glandular tissue is essential. Otherwise, the same problem may recur. So even if creating an incision feels a bit burdensome and painful, the glandular tissue must still be removed.
Glandular type
Improvement method

The fat type refers to a case where the breast tissue has almost completely regressed and disappeared, and the area is made up mostly of fat. As a result, it can be improved relatively simply through fat removal by suction.
In such cases, even if you make an incision and look deeply into the area in an attempt to address the breast tissue as well, only a very tiny amount—about one or two threads’ worth—will come out, so you may end up leaving behind an unnecessary scar and only causing pain. That is why the goal is to improve it simply with liposuction. Liposuction can be performed with only a very small incision of about 0.5 mm, and because it removes only the fatty tissue from the outside, recovery does not take long and significant pain does not usually remain.
Glandular type
Improvement method

In the case of the glandular type, where it is clearly visible that breast tissue extends into the inner part of the armpit, that tissue is the root cause of the bulge and must be removed. If even part of the tissue remains inside, it can grow again from there and cause the same discomfort once more, so the key is to cleanly remove it.
When handling this tissue, methods that pursued convenience also appeared, such as inserting instruments inside to break the tissue into small pieces before removing it. However, if it is not removed cleanly and fragments remain, recurrence can occur. Therefore, the method considered appropriate is to make a small incision to reduce the burden as much as possible and remove the problematic breast tissue and fat together as a single mass.
When removing glandular-type axillary breast tissue, if sagging skin is also observed along with the breast tissue, liposuction may be combined to help the loosened skin adhere and improve the shape so that it becomes smooth.

If we summarize the methods by type, it would look like the above. In the end, the key point is to carefully and accurately analyze what characteristics the area you want to improve has, then choose the method that matches it and proceed in the proper and appropriate way.
There is one thing to point out here. A combined type has both the features of a glandular type, where the breast tissue is developed, and a bulging fat type. If the skin sagging is severe, the sagging skin must be removed along with the breast tissue. Earlier, when discussing the discomfort caused by this condition, we said that, like the breast, it becomes more saggy as time passes with age.
If a person with a combined type lets time pass without improving it, the skin loses elasticity and becomes severely saggy, often resulting in a very unattractive appearance. If axillary breast removal surgery is performed in such a state, combining glandular excision and liposuction alone will not be enough to improve severely sagging skin, so the skin must be pulled tight and the excess skin removed. In this case, if carried out with skilled technique, there is not necessarily any greater suffering in terms of pain or recovery, but the scar can be somewhat larger, so it is better to improve it as early as possible.
Skill level
determines safety

Lastly, if you are planning such a solution, I would like to say that you should visit a place that is sufficiently skilled and has abundant knowledge. As a rule, any procedure that involves making incisions should be done only to the extent necessary and within a range that does not cause fatal harm to the body, but the armpit is an especially delicate area.
Important structures such as lymph nodes, nerve bundles, and large blood vessels pass through the armpit in a narrow space, so when removing breast tissue or performing liposuction, it is very important not to disturb surrounding tissues or structures. Therefore, the procedure should be carried out at a place with extensive experience, strong know-how, and a high level of anatomical understanding of the female body, especially as it relates to the breasts.
