Even if I may look cool and a little blunt on the outside, I often thought I wanted to become a doctor whose inside was soft and fluffy like cotton candy. In fact, that goal was a rather abstract idea, but recently I have come to realize a little more clearly what my identity was.
There is no separate director’s office in my workplace, but once you arrive at my desk, you will easily find purple dolls and goods standing proudly on one side.

Actually, I really like Sanrio’s ‘Kuromi.’
I think it may seem a little embarrassing or odd for a 44-year-old male doctor to collect character dolls, but I am very fond of Kuromi because seeing her honest and confident charm makes the tiredness of the day melt away.

And this affection was recently recognized on a social media channel called Threads. I even got the nickname “Dr. Kuromi,” meaning “the male doctor who loves Kuromi.”

Many people, when they first meet me, tell me that I seemed “blunt and a little scary.” That is because I am naturally very shy, and because I focus on not missing the patient’s concerns, I often become more serious than necessary.
In reality, I am a warm and slightly clumsy person, so I hope you won’t be too afraid.

Anyway, when having somewhat serious conversations, I try to soften the atmosphere through the Kuromi items placed in the clinic.
For example, I might offer a patient who is about to receive an injection treatment a Kuromi doll or a blanket.
Usually, this quickly makes the mood cheerful and light.

And honestly, as the saying goes, there is no bad person among those who like cute characters, right?

In this way, the clinic is filled with items that reflect my personal taste.
I hope these items help reduce the pressure of youthful surgery and the burden of pain.

Sometimes people ask me to do plastic surgery like Kuromi, but I believe that my duty is to preserve natural beauty that will still make you smile in the mirror ten years from now, rather than focusing on immediate glamour, and I continue to act according to that conviction today as well.
Even if I may be a little shy, I hope you will know that my sincerity toward my patients is deeper and warmer than anyone else’s.
Today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, I will be waiting for all of you together with Kuromi, who has maintained her anti-aging beauty for more than 20 years. Have a comfortable and wonderfully positive day.
