Hello.
Today, this is Ogana from Ogana.

Today, I’d like to talk about
the Japanese kaiseki specialty restaurant
“Migaki” in Cheongdam-dong.

Recently, on Culinary Class Wars 2,
Chef Choi Kyu-deok briefly appeared
with the nickname “Sashimi Swordsman.”
Although the appearance was short, for those who know food,
it was definitely a memorable scene.
In fact, this is a place I used to visit from time to time,
and it was my first visit in 2026.
It is a place that presents traditional Japanese kaiseki
in a classic, faithful way.
Cheongdam-dong Migaki

Migaki is based on Japanese-style fine dining
kaiseki cuisine.

The first dish served was hassen ryori,
which is composed of ingredients from heaven, sea, and land
according to the season,
combined through five cooking methods.

Migaki’s signature mackerel sushi
was lightly smoked with applewood chips,
so there was almost no fishy smell.
The neatly arranged presentation, like a chessboard,
is a menu designed to offer both visual enjoyment and the pleasure of eating.

The next dishes were
uni soba topped with sea urchin from Geoje and Hokkaido,
and on the right, yam julienned thinly and
served as yam somen marinated in kelp.

It wasn’t flashy, but the texture and balance were good,
and personally, the yam somen left a stronger impression than the somen.^^

Migaki’s signature menu item,
“Crane Sashimi”
On this day, sashimi shaped like a crane
was served using flatfish.
It is a composition that designs both form and flavor
by slicing seasonal aged sashimi thinly.

After that, I tasted many more traditional Japanese dishes,
and Chef Choi Kyu-deok calmly explained
the origins of the ingredients and the cooking process,
so it became not just a meal,
but a time to understand the cuisine.
Cheongdam-dong Migaki visit review..
Culinary Class Wars 2 restaurant Sashimi Swordsman 'Chef Choi Kyu-deok'

As some of you may know,
this is a place I personally operate.
I’m serious about gastronomy, so I run a few establishments,
and among them, Migaki is a place I often choose for business entertaining.

It took quite some time to bring in Chef Choi Kyu-deok,
but now I think it was the right choice.
I’m personally pleased to see the restaurant being operated steadily.

So, I’ve shared my review of my visit to
Migaki in Cheongdam-dong, the restaurant from Culinary Class Wars 2.
If you’d like to properly experience hidden masters’ Japanese kaiseki,
I think it would be worth visiting Migaki in Cheongdam-dong.
Thank you for reading this long post.
