Hello. This time, I’d like to introduce a case of improving appearance through autologous cartilage rhinoplasty.

When you are unhappy with your own appearance, you may consider plastic surgery. Among the various types of plastic surgery, the nose is located at the center of the face and is the most three-dimensional area, so it can affect the overall image, which is why some people prioritize it. In the past, an excessively high nose line was in fashion, but today the trend is to improve it to a line that suits the individual, and more people are looking into autologous cartilage rhinoplasty.

In this way, people looking into autologous cartilage rhinoplasty may have nose shapes such as a nose that is too low, a hump, a crooked nose, an upturned nose, a drooping nose, or a cleft nose. When the shape does not match one’s own 기준, they may look into plastic surgery in more detail. In the case of rhinoplasty, the surgical method and materials differ depending on each person’s unique characteristics, the condition of the nasal bone, the condition of the skin, and whether there are internal functional issues in the nose, so it is important to proceed with the rhinoplasty that is appropriate for you.

As such, most people looking into autologous cartilage rhinoplasty prioritize aesthetic concerns. However, the nose is not only important in appearance but also a functional organ responsible for breathing and smell. Therefore, surgery should be performed only after accurately checking both the outside and inside of the nose, so that revision surgery caused by postoperative functional problems can be prevented.

Therefore, for those looking into autologous cartilage rhinoplasty, it is important to look at before-and-after photos and find a nose shape similar to your own, but it is also helpful to carefully check whether the medical staff have a high level of anatomical knowledge about the nose, whether they have sufficient experience and expertise, whether the necessary equipment is available to accurately assess the condition of your nose, and whether aftercare is firmly guaranteed.

At N+ Clinic, to ensure safe and satisfying autologous cartilage rhinoplasty, we accurately assess each individual’s current nasal condition through preoperative 3D-CT scans, internal endoscopic imaging, nasal function tests, and multi-angle photography, and then establish and proceed with a surgical plan based on the extracted data.

Autologous cartilage rhinoplasty is performed using autologous cartilage and can be broadly classified into three methods. These include cases where both the nasal bridge and tip are low, cases where only the nasal bridge is low, and cases where only the nasal tip is low.

When both the nasal bridge and tip are low, the tip can be corrected with autologous cartilage, and if necessary, an implant can be inserted into the nasal bridge to correct the overall nose line.

When only the nasal bridge is low, the bridge line can be corrected by inserting an implant or using autologous costal cartilage, which is autologous cartilage.

When only the nasal tip is low, the overall nose line can be corrected through autologous cartilage for the tip.

If preoperative testing shows that there are internal nasal function problems before surgery, such as a deviated septum, inferior turbinate hypertrophy, nasal valve stenosis, or multiple combined symptoms, functional improvement can be performed first, followed by cosmetic rhinoplasty.

The autologous cartilage used in autologous cartilage rhinoplasty includes septal cartilage, ear cartilage, and autologous costal cartilage. During preoperative testing, the material can be selected according to each individual’s condition, and if the use of autologous cartilage is unavoidably difficult, it can be replaced with donor costal cartilage approved by the U.S. FDA.

At N+ Clinic, Director Yoon Hyun-cheol personally handles one-on-one care, directly managing every step related to rhinoplasty—from consultation and surgical planning to the procedure, treatment, and follow-up visits—so you can receive a high level of medical service from before surgery through recovery.

The postoperative aftercare includes an A/S system that guarantees support for one year after surgery, as well as a surgical responsibility guarantee system that prepares for all possible situations, such as postoperative pain, inflammation, or dissatisfaction with appearance, so the benefits of aftercare after surgery are firmly guaranteed.
