Hello. I’m Dr. Jo Wonjin, and I have been seeing patients in Hongdae for 9 years.

"Doctor, I got Juvelook injected incorrectly
and ended up with nodules..ㅠㅠ"
Interest in Juvelook is high these days.
It helps the skin produce collagen on its own, naturally restoring lost volume and firmness.
However, during consultations, there is one concern that many people commonly share: nodules.
In fact, some people have come to me after procedures at other clinics to have nodular side effects removed.

Of course, I was able to remove them reasonably well,
but removal is not an easy process either,
so it is important to get the injection done properly in the first place.
Juvelook delivers clear results, but because of that, the outcome can vary greatly depending on the injector’s experience and carefulness.
Today, under the topic of "Three Ways to Prevent Juvelook Nodules and Side Effects in Hongdae,"
I will explain why Juvelook nodule side effects occur and the three key principles for preventing them.

Juvelook nodules: why do they even happen?
To put it simply, nodules occur because the Juvelook solution was not mixed well enough, was injected into a shallow layer of skin, or was injected in excess.
There was a patient who came to me after receiving a Hongdae Juvelook treatment at another clinic because the area under the eyes had become lumpy.
From immediately after the procedure, small lumps could be felt under the eyes, and every time they smiled, that area became more prominent, causing significant stress.

Why do nodules like this happen?
Juvelook comes in powder form.
This powder is mixed with normal saline and injected into the skin. (This is called hydration.)
It is similar to making bread dough with flour.
When flour and water are mixed, if they are not blended thoroughly, lumps of powder remain as they are.

The same applies to Juvelook.
If the powder is injected without dissolving properly in saline,
if it is clumped together in a shallow skin layer,
or if too much is injected so that it does not blend well into the skin,
it remains as a hard "mass" inside the skin, which is a nodule.

Then how can nodules be prevented?
Method 1. Keep the golden ratio of hydration time and concentration
The first key to preventing nodules is the hydration technique that properly dissolves the Juvelook particles.
Of course, there is a basic guideline for hydrating Juvelook by mixing it with saline.
However, the amount of saline and the mixing time all vary depending on the clinic’s own technique.
The key is to find the "golden ratio" for making the optimal solution so that the treatment is effective without causing nodules.

But from the patient’s perspective, there is no way to know this.
This is the biggest reason I tell people to look for a clinic with extensive treatment experience, especially for Hongdae Juvelook procedures.
Because the hydration process is already part of the procedure itself.
If someone skips this time to save time, or uses under-dissolved product due to lack of experience...
that is not a procedure; it is injecting problems.
Method 2. Precisely target the "deep dermis" to avoid nodules
The second key is to accurately target the deep dermis, the collagen factory.
Many people think Juvelook is simply injected into the dermis, but in fact the dermis is a very broad category.
If it is injected into the shallower "upper dermis," there is a risk of nodules.
On the other hand, if it goes too deep, it moves outside the main layer where collagen is generated, reducing the effect.

Also, the amount injected should differ by area.
If the thin under-eye area is injected the same way as the thicker cheek area, the risk of nodules increases there as well.
This is one reason nodules occur more easily in thin-skinned areas.
Carefully understanding each patient’s skin thickness and injecting the proper amount of medication evenly at a consistent depth.
That is the core skill of an experienced doctor.
Method 3. Use "radiofrequency" right after the procedure for even absorption
The final third step is to use radiofrequency heat to dissolve the injected particles and help them absorb evenly.
Even when the procedure is done carefully, this step is performed to minimize the risk of nodules.
Although Juvelook looks like water to the eye, it is actually a form containing dissolved artificial powder.
To help it properly permeate the tissue, it is necessary to apply heat once more to dissolve these particles.

At around 55°C, the material becomes more flexible and is absorbed better into the skin tissue,
and radiofrequency heat (between 42 and 60°C) plays exactly this role.
So it is a good idea to check whether radiofrequency care is included in the Hongdae Juvelook treatment process.
Hongdae Juvelook: key summary for procedures without side effects
Let me summarize what I covered today.
- The medication should be carefully prepared with hydration know-how that comes from experience.
- It should be injected precisely into the "deep dermis," the collagen factory within the dermis.
- Right after the procedure, radiofrequency heat should help the medication permeate the tissue well.

Please review the above information
and choose a place with stable treatment experience and know-how,
so that you can receive your procedure safely.
This was Director Jo Wonjin. Thank you.
