Today,

we would like to introduce a case of a 79-year-old elderly patient

whose post-orthodontic results were

surprisingly good :)

Because Director Kim Seung-woo pursues conservative treatment methods,

he decided to proceed with orthodontic treatment in a way that preserved as much of the teeth and jawbone as possible, taking the patient’s age into consideration :)

The patient said that food often got stuck on the lower right side, which was uncomfortable,

and that the crooked front teeth had bothered her for a very long time.

Invisalign has an arch expansion function,

so it is commonly used for non-extraction orthodontic treatment.

For this patient, who had long been troubled by "crooked teeth and dental asymmetry," the condition of the teeth was as follows:

For the upper teeth, treatment was done without extraction,

and for the lower teeth, to secure space,

one tooth on the lower right side that was protruding significantly sideways needed to be extracted.

Invisalign extraction orthodontic treatment is challenging,

so as with our clinic, which has extensive Invisalign experience,

For the upper teeth,

we proceeded with treatment without extraction using Invisalign’s "arch expansion" function.

Invisalign, made of a special reinforced plastic material,

continuously applies a small amount of force to hold the teeth from the inside and outside,

so it helps expand the arch without pain and makes tooth movement easier.

Considering both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the teeth,

this patient underwent treatment with the Invisalign Comprehensive option among Invisalign types.

Invisalign Comprehensive is used when the malocclusion is relatively severe and more Invisalign aligners are needed.

In the first ClinCheck, Invisalign treatment was carried out with 32 aligners.

Wow~!!

The protruding front teeth moved inward,

and all the lower teeth that had been leaning inward found their proper positions!!

The patient was so satisfied with this state

that she said it seemed like treatment could end here, haha.

for the detailing of the orthodontic treatment, Dr. Kim continued with the final ClinCheck!

After orthodontic treatment with Invisalign,

the teeth that had been leaning inward and were crooked were neatly improved,

and each tooth was able to harmonize in its role within the oral cavity,

a retainer was made for the inner side of the teeth to prevent them from shifting again.

After treatment, as the teeth became neatly aligned,

gum care became easier, and the gums that had been red and swollen returned to a healthy pink color.
