Today, we’d like to introduce a non-extraction Invisalign orthodontic case for a patient who visited us with the above concern.

The patient had received bracket orthodontic treatment 10 years ago,

but was worried because the front teeth were gradually protruding more and more.

To improve the angle of the protruded upper front teeth,

two orthodontic treatment plans could be considered:

The first was Invisalign orthodontic treatment without extraction, or The second was extraction of four premolars followed by conventional wire braces.

Total treatment period: 23/4 - 24/11

Extraction orthodontics involving removal of four premolars can make it easier to improve the angle of protruding front teeth, but it can also change facial appearance.

In this patient’s case,

because the mouth was not particularly protrusive,

there was a possibility that extraction could instead make the mouth look too sunken,

so the decision was made to proceed without extraction using non-extraction Invisalign orthodontic treatment :)

Q. Is it possible to do orthodontic treatment without extraction?

When protruding front teeth are present and there is not much space between the teeth,

if orthodontic treatment is done without extraction,

the teeth can be aligned evenly, but because there is not enough space,

the front teeth may ultimately protrude even more than before treatment.

In such cases,

we recommend non-extraction Invisalign, which has its own arch-expansion function!
