What is the principle of Ulthera?

In a nutshell, Ulthera is a procedure that lifts the skin by precisely concentrating ultrasound energy deep within the skin.

Inside our skin is a firm membrane called the SMAS layer.

This layer, made up of collagen and elastin, is the very layer that is directly lifted during a facelift in plastic surgery.

Ulthera works by concentrating thermal energy on that deep layer without surgery, causing the collagen to contract and then encouraging new collagen to build up over the following months.
