[Front Tooth Treatment] When the porcelain on a front tooth crown breaks, how to repair it instead of making a new one (Porcelain fracture, resin repair)

Front teeth are an aesthetically important area,

and because they are part of the face,

when there is a large cavity or fracture,

they are often covered with porcelain veneers or crowns.

If decay does not occur underneath,

they can last for well over 10 years,

but unfortunate accidents can also happen,

such as porcelain breaking from biting on chopsticks or chewing food improperly.

The patient I’m introducing today said

that part of the porcelain had fractured after biting on chopsticks.

Because it was a relatively small fracture that occurred in a location

not greatly related to the survival of the restoration,

instead of removing the crown and making a new one,

I suggested repairing it by replacing the porcelain with resin.

The tip of the porcelain had chipped off slightly.

Because it was not at a level that threatened the lifespan of the entire crown,

I explained that I would repair it with resin instead of remaking the restoration.

the patient came in looking worried,

but after looking in the mirror, they were very satisfied and happy.
