Hello,
I’m Dr. Junhee Jeon, director of Shinchon Chiazigim.

A male patient in his 20s, with straight teeth and a beautiful bright smile, visited us.
He said he wanted to get rid of the noticeable white spots at the ends of his teeth.
What would be the best way to treat this?
The no-prep laminate that’s popular these days?
A crown?
Carving out only the white area and filling it in with a similar color?
The answer is ICON resin infiltration.

If it’s DMG’s Icon resin, it can be done.
Without removing any tooth structure,
resin is infiltrated into the white spot area
to harmonize the color.
Even if you later undergo teeth whitening treatment,
the colors will not appear different.
The photos below are posted by DMG
and show before-and-after images
of the ICON resin infiltration procedure.

Back to our patient....
One treatment session takes only 15 to 20 minutes.
Even if there are multiple teeth that need treatment,
they can be treated at the same time, so it is not a problem.
If the area of the white spot is too wide,
a single treatment session may not be enough.
If needed, one more session can be added.

After one treatment session, you can see that the tooth color has become much more natural.
I created this post to show that just because there are white spots on a tooth,
you should not blindly remove tooth structure
or resort to expensive treatments like veneers.
That’s all :)
