[Front Tooth Retreatment] Retreatment of a Stained, Old Resin Filling to Make It Bright Again Like a New Tooth

That is why our dental clinic has many patients who come in for treatment of front teeth broken in accidents or damaged by cavities.

The case I am introducing today is also of a patient who visited us for retreatment after receiving cavity treatment long ago.

20250823 (Before treatment)

This is a man in his 30s.

He has a lot of old resin fillings overall on his front teeth.

As time passes, gaps form between the resin and the tooth, causing yellow and brown discoloration.

Every time you smile, every time you have a conversation, it is not something easy to ignore.

20250906 (After treatment)

Under light local anesthesia, the existing restorations are carefully removed.

With the help of magnification glasses called loupes, more precise removal is possible.

In addition, we closely examined the shade of resin that would suit the patient, and then layered resin appropriate for each area.

This was a case in which multiple chroma levels existed within a single tooth, so it took longer and was more difficult than for other patients.

But just as much time and effort were invested, the patient’s smile shone that much brighter, so it was truly a rewarding treatment experience.
