Hello~
I’m Jang Tae-hyun, the chief director of Seoul Bardi Dental Clinic.
Among dental treatments, the area patients are most determined about is the front teeth.
Since people face others in daily life,
they are the most visible area,
even a small problem brings them in right away.
Today’s patient also came in because their teeth were loose.
Sangil-dong Station Dental Clinic: We Addressed Loose Upper Front Teeth and Aesthetics with Implants.
Let’s take a look at how we made them look natural and beautiful!!

This patient visited us because of looseness in the upper teeth.
They said their gums were weak by nature,
and they had broken down again.
That was how they described it.
There are broadly two causes of looseness.
- The tooth is broken, or
- There is a problem with the gums
The patient said they had been receiving treatment one tooth at a time because their gums were weak.
I could also see an implant in the front teeth,
and there were also teeth covered with prosthetics~
Patients reading this may not be able to tell just from the photos,
but
a specialist can see the prosthetic work clearly with the naked eye haha

After taking an X-ray to check the jawbone,
as expected, there was no gum bone holding the teeth in place.
That is why looseness in the upper front teeth occurred.

After analyzing the CT images,
please look at the red-circled area.
Do you see the dark area?
This is the area where the bone has resorbed,
and one side wall has completely disappeared.

In addition to the symptoms of loose upper front teeth,
because the bone could not support the teeth,
the teeth kept moving downward
and appeared protruded.
To solve the problem, at least two teeth had to be extracted
in order to relieve the discomfort.
When I carefully mentioned extraction followed by implants at the Sangil-dong Station Dental Clinic,
the patient made one request.
“Can the protruding look of the front teeth be improved?”
They asked.
The protruding appearance of the front teeth
was caused by them moving away from the gum bone,
and I told them it could be improved with implants~
At that moment, I realized something.
The patient was likely worried about the looseness,
but they had also decided to get treatment because the look of the front teeth had gradually changed.
Because patients feel uneasy about even small changes,
I resolved to pay even more attention when making prosthetics for patients visiting the Sangil-dong Station Dental Clinic...

The key point of today’s treatment was: let’s restore it naturally!
Between the teeth that needed extraction and implants,
there was already a previously placed implant tooth.
It was located in the middle.
The newly made implant prosthesis
and the existing prosthesis needed to be connected naturally.
So that it would not look like it was done later,
we decided to pay close attention to that during the prosthetic work.
231107
First, the reason the patient came in with looseness in the upper front teeth was that
there was no jawbone.
So during the implant procedure,
we generously filled in the missing bone.
In the case of front teeth, the gum volume needs to be full
for the final prosthetics to look good~
If the gum bone looks sunken, it can make you look older
and become less pleasing to the eye.

This is a photo taken immediately after the surgery.
Implants were placed on both sides of the existing implant.
If the existing implant had not been there,
it would also have been possible to place only two implants and create three crowns,
but since treatment had already been completed,
we had to make the most of what was already there.
We continued the treatment without damaging the existing implant.

In procedures with this level of difficulty,
the Sangil-dong Station Dental Clinic uses its available equipment,
and we actively use the navigation implant surgery technique.

Being able to see the before-and-after at a glance
is very helpful.

Normally, stitches are removed about a week after implant surgery.
In the case of front teeth, the gums are thin,
and because we had added quite a lot of bone grafting,
the patient waited about two weeks.
We needed to make the prosthetics only after the implants had fully integrated with the bone.
Here, the idea of naturally connecting everything comes up again.

For the prosthetic fabrication,
we held many discussions with the director who makes them personally.
From the issue of tooth size distribution
to the color,
how the gum line should be shaped,
and even the thickness of the prosthesis...
Since front teeth are an aesthetic area,
there are many things to pay attention to~
The patient wanted the protruding teeth improved,
and I also wanted to make them look beautiful,
so
production -> consultation with the patient -> remaking -> patient confirmation
After revising it twice,
we completed the fabrication.

This is the finished result.
As the patient looked at the neatly rearranged front teeth,
they kept looking in the mirror.
At the Sangil-dong Station Dental Clinic, we are not afraid of remaking prosthetics.
Our goal is not to finish treatment quickly,
but for the patient to be satisfied—that is our mission.
Because we know that even a small difference can make a big change,
we will actively accept our patients’ requests.
