Hello!
I am Jang Tae-hyun, the chief director of Seoul Bardi Dental Clinic, where we perform digital implant procedures.
Our clinic sees many patients who need treatment for multiple teeth, not just one or two.
Thanks to word of mouth, many people come to us...
And when there are many teeth that need treatment, there are often cases where both sides need to be treated at the same time.
Godeok-dong Dental Clinic: Simultaneous Implant Treatment for Both Back Molars
Let me introduce a patient who came all the way from Ansan for treatment~~

I came by because I wanted to know whether bone grafting was really necessary.
The patient lives in Ansan
and had come to visit family,
and thought Seoul might be a bit different, so
she visited the Godeok-dong dental clinic while she was here.
If bone grafting is needed,
that means an implant is needed...
Because the patient asked whether bone grafting was necessary
rather than asking, “Do I really need an implant?”
we could infer that she already recognized that there was a problem with the teeth and that it needed to be addressed.

After taking an X-ray,
there was a reason she decided to proceed with treatment.
As the gums had receded, she must have felt looseness,
and severe decay had caused pain.
There were already teeth that had been removed as well~
Both back molars were in bridge form,
and when I asked how long ago the treatment had been done,
she said she didn’t even remember when it was done.
Both upper teeth on both sides were in a condition that required extraction.
Since the patient’s main concern was whether
“bone grafting” was necessary,
we took a CT scan and analyzed it.
And then we gave an explanation.

If it’s something patients can see with their own eyes,
the treatment consent rate goes up...
In the case of bone grafting,
because we have to explain the unseen jawbone area,
patients may think,
“I understand that implants are necessary,
but isn’t bone grafting overtreatment?”
While showing the CT images of the oral condition,
we explained everything in as much detail as possible.
Since this post is getting a bit long, I’ll continue next time with whether bone grafting is really necessary.
It is not a matter of saying that bone grafting must always be done!
Rather, we help patients understand why the surgery would be difficult if it were not done,
and even though the distance was far,
the patient decided to proceed with simultaneous implant surgery for both back molars at the Godeok-dong dental clinic.
We are truly grateful...
Traveling back and forth from Gyeonggi Province to Seoul for treatment ㅠㅠㅠ

First, we extracted the problematic bridges on both sides.
Because there was no jawbone, we performed bone grafting at the same time as the extractions.
Since implants could not be placed on the day of extraction,
we first performed the bone grafting
and waited for healing.

I’ll share a blog post from a patient with a similar case!!
We continued monitoring, and about two months later,
we decided to proceed with surgery using the navigation implant method.
We had decided to do the implants for both back molars at the same time.
There is also a method of separating the surgery and doing one side at a time,
but that would lengthen the overall treatment period.
Since upper back molars take 4 to 6 months to be completed...
231023
With navigation,
we can predict the surgery in advance,
and because it offers high accuracy and safety,
it is recommended in cases like this,
where the number of procedures is large
and the difficulty is high~
231031
As expected, the clinical results after surgery are also very good.
On the chosen day, we performed implants for both back molars at the same time,
and also placed implants in the missing lower area,
for a total of 7 implants placed in one day.
Because there was very little jawbone,
- Bone grafting once on the day of extraction
- Bone grafting once on the day of surgery
A total of two bone grafting procedures were performed.
Six months after surgery, the prosthetics were placed.
While waiting, not having teeth must have been very difficult,
but one advantage of navigation implants is
that the outcome can be predicted even before surgery~
231023
After treatment, we explained that the prosthetics would be placed like this.
We told the patient that they would be able to eat soon.
We offered comfort and encouragement to the patient,
and were able to complete everything smoothly at the Godeok-dong dental clinic.

This is a photo of the completed implants.
Because bone grafting lengthens the healing period,
we try to avoid it whenever possible.
Through navigation-based prediction and CT analysis,
we proceed only in cases where it is truly unavoidable,
so if you would like to hear Seoul Bardi Dental Clinic’s diagnosis,
you are always welcome.
But please make sure to make a reservation...! ㅠ
Thank you!
