Hello~
I’m Lee Ju-ri, the chief director of Seoul Bardi Dental Clinic.
These days, there is a lot of interest from patients in laminate veneer treatment!
Especially when it comes to front teeth, which are highly visible aesthetically,
many people are feeling stressed about them.
And since there is even a rumor that tooth reduction may not be necessary,
oh... maybe I should try it too?
A lot of people seem to be thinking that way~
Is no-prep laminate veneer for teeth really possible at Sangil-dong Station?
I’ll give you a clear answer from an expert’s point of view!

No-prep laminate veneer????

In general prosthetic treatment, the teeth must be shaved down before fabrication.
That’s because teeth already have their own size,
and if something is added on top, the size becomes larger~
If a certain tooth becomes too large, it can look unnatural
and stand out more visibly~
No-prep laminate veneer allows you to have beautiful front teeth without shaving the teeth.
It is certainly appealing,
but is this procedure suitable for every patient?
Unfortunately, no-prep laminate veneer cannot be applied in every situation.
As I hinted earlier,
it can be applied in certain cases~

If the original tooth size is small,
or if there is a gap between the front teeth,
in such cases, it may improve aesthetics with little to no tooth reduction~
It’s not that no-prep laminate veneer is possible for every case...
But because it has the advantage of preserving as much of the tooth as possible,
many people ask,
“Can I get no-prep treatment too?”
No-prep conditions for laminate veneer are needed!
First, the alignment of the teeth
If the teeth are severely misaligned,
or if the bite (the tight contact between the upper and lower teeth)
is not suitable, this is not recommended.
One of the disadvantages of laminate veneer is that it can break.
So you should keep avoiding hard and tough foods~
If the upper and lower teeth fit together too tightly,
it can stimulate the laminate veneer, causing it to break easily... or come off.

241204 If laminate veneer is done after removing previously filled material, no-prep is possible!
Second, the size, shape, and alignment of the teeth

It is effective when a specific tooth is small.
That’s because you only need to increase the size of that tooth~
Third, a slight gap between the teeth
For patients with spaced front teeth, no-prep laminate veneer is a perfect fit!
If the space is not too large, it can be filled in~
On the other hand, if there is too little space,
some tooth reduction will be unavoidableㅠ
This is recommended in the following cases!
If the tooth color is dark
Mild discoloration caused by aging, food, or beverages
can be sufficiently covered with no-prep laminate veneer.
Whitening has the disadvantage that the effect can fade over time,
but laminate veneer is a prosthetic restoration, so the color does not change~

If there is minor damage to the front teeth
If the front teeth are slightly worn down,
or if there is minor damage at the edge, it may be better than resin.
Resin has the fatal drawback that it can fall off,
but laminate veneer covers the entire tooth,
so it is relatively less likely to come off~
All patients come in with the expectation that maybe they can do it too! But...
because the applicable cases are limited, it cannot realistically be recommended for every patient.
If the procedure is forced to proceed without reduction,
the unnatural thickness may weaken adhesion
and increase the risk of it coming off.

If you are considering no-prep laminate veneer,
please first consult a specialist!
Because specialists have a lot of experience, if orthodontic treatment or resin
or another treatment method is more appropriate, they will recommend that option,
and they will provide the treatment plan best suited to your tooth condition~
You do not have to visit our clinic just for Sangil-dong Station laminate veneer,
but if you visit at any time,
I will show you the experience of becoming prettier in 1 mm increments with my sharp sense.😊
Thank you
