In this post, I’ll organize the conditions required for same-day implants, as well as

the precautions, advantages, and disadvantages.

Same-day implants?

A standard implant procedure takes an average of more than 3 months

from implant placement to completion of the prosthetic.

This surgical method, also called a one-day implant,

refers to extracting the tooth, placing the implant at the same time,

and attaching the prosthetic as well.

It allows you to eat right after treatment,

so it can be a very attractive option for people short on time~

As mentioned, it is not possible for everyone.

Certain conditions must be met.

Conditions for someone who can receive a one-day implant

1. The alveolar bone condition must be good

The CT scan results should show sufficient bone height and thickness.

2. A healthy extraction environment without inflammation

If the inflammation is severe, it is difficult.

3. There should be no systemic disease, or it should be well controlled

4. Bone density sufficient to allow immediate prosthetic placement

5. The dental clinic should be equipped with a lab system and digital equipment

Generally, because it is fabricated in a dental lab,

the time required for production cannot be ignored~

In fact...

There is a catch hidden here.

Unless there is almost no bone at all,

it is possible to extract the tooth and place the implant on the same day.

In the past, after extracting a tooth, people waited

for a certain period until healing took place.

Then, surgery was performed afterward,

and that approach was preferred.

These days, to shorten the treatment period,

if the inflammation is not severe,

extraction and implant placement are performed at the same time on the same day.
