Hello, this is Eziham Dermatology Gangnam Branch.
These days, among the people who visit our dermatology clinic, there are many who come with concerns like this: “I keep hearing from people around me that lifting is good, so I’m thinking I should try it too, but I don’t know which one to get.” If you search blogs, you’ll see names like Doublo, Shurink, Thermage, Ulthera… the names are unfamiliar, the explanations are difficult, and there are so many ad-like posts that it only becomes more confusing. I truly understand how you feel. I’ve seen that expression on patients’ faces countless times in the clinic.
Today’s post was written because I wanted to sincerely share what people considering Seocho-dong lifting should know before getting a lifting procedure. If you’re especially curious about Thermage FLX, reading to the end will definitely be helpful.

One day, a patient came into the consultation room. The patient, who was in the mid-40s, spoke cautiously as soon as they sat down. “Doctor, I actually got an ultrasound lifting treatment at another place two months ago, but I’m not sure whether it’s just not effective or whether my skin was already like this.” As I examined the skin while listening, I saw that the elasticity had dropped significantly, and the skin itself had become quite dry and thin.
That patient had simply thought that because it was called a lifting procedure, it would definitely be effective for sagging. But ultrasound lifting does not solve “all sagging” for “all skin.” What that patient needed was something else: radiofrequency energy that revives collagen deep within the skin and increases the overall density of the skin—namely, Thermage FLX.

What is Thermage FLX?
Thermage FLX is a non-incisional lifting procedure that delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy uniformly into the deeper layers of the skin, contracting collagen and inducing new collagen production. Simply put, it is similar to washing an old sweater and restoring it to its original firm shape.
As we age, and as collagen fibers in the skin are exposed to ultraviolet rays over a long period, they gradually loosen and lose elasticity. As a result, the skin sags, nasolabial folds become deeper, and the overall facial contour becomes less defined. Thermage FLX applies thermal energy to this loosened collagen structure, inducing an immediate contraction response along with gradual collagen regeneration over the following months.
Thermage FLX is especially strong in uniformly improving the overall density of the skin, so it is a procedure that we often recommend to people who want to restore firmness across the entire face.

How should you care for your skin after Thermage FLX?
After receiving Thermage FLX, there are a few care principles to follow. For one week after the procedure, it is best to avoid activities that rapidly raise your body temperature, such as saunas, steam rooms, or intense exercise. Since heat energy has just been applied to the skin, additional heat stimulation may affect the skin’s recovery process.
Sun protection is important even on days when you do not undergo this procedure, but after the procedure you need to pay even closer attention to it. Apply sunscreen with SPF 50+ carefully every day, and when going বাইরে, it is even better to use a hat or umbrella as well. Hydration and moisturizing care are also important.
As collagen regenerates, the amount of moisture the skin needs increases, so please drink enough water throughout the day and do not skip moisturizing products. The effects of the procedure usually appear in earnest between 4 and 12 weeks after treatment rather than immediately afterward, and many people feel the most satisfying changes after 2 to 3 months. Understanding this process and waiting for it is also part of the care.

A word I want to share as a doctor
While running Eziham Dermatology, I have always kept one principle in mind: “Naturalness without overdoing it, and long-term trust.” People visiting the dermatology clinic for the first time often ask, “Can’t I just get one treatment that’s famous?” Every time, I tell them this: every skin is different.
Even under the same term Seocho-dong lifting, each person needs a different diagnosis and solution based on their skin. Thermage FLX is a good procedure, but it may not be the answer for everyone. Some people are better suited to ultrasound lifting, and some may see synergy by combining both. For some, the right order is to first improve the skin’s baseline condition with a skin booster and then get a lifting procedure.
Eziham Dermatology aims to be a place you can trust for a long time, rather than a place for just one procedure. That is why we insist on honest care, and also why we believe the trust built with our patients is our most valuable asset.

If you are considering Seocho-dong lifting, I hope today’s post has been helpful in some way. Thermage FLX is certainly one of the excellent lifting options. It is a procedure that can activate collagen throughout the skin with radiofrequency energy and help with both tightening and improvement of skin texture. But before that, the most important thing is to accurately understand your own skin condition.
Knowing which procedure is right for you right now, and which sequence and combination can bring about the most natural improvement—that is the starting point for getting Seocho-dong lifting properly. Eziham Dermatology will continue, as always, to listen to each patient’s skin and provide honest and diligent care.
