Filler effects by area?
This was the best spot
[Paper attached]
Hello.
I’m Kim Jinhyeon,
Chief Director of You&I Clinic Mokdong Branch.
For those considering filler procedures,
there is one question I hear most often.
“Where should I get it so it looks the most natural
and beautiful without showing?”
“Would the lips be better,
or the front cheek?” and so on.
In other words, it’s a question about the area.
Online reviews and recommendations from acquaintances
can be helpful, but in fact,
filler results vary greatly depending on where it is injected,
and for some areas,
it can look better than expected,
but for others,
the level of satisfaction may be lower than expected.
Moreover, the face is a complex space made up of areas
with different structures and characteristics,
so the simple idea of “fill what has sunken”
is not enough.
Today, I’ll explain based on actual papers
which areas look good and improve naturally
when fillers are injected.

Fillers: where are they good to inject?
Fillers are a representative non-surgical procedure
that injects ingredients such as hyaluronic acid
into areas that have sunken or developed wrinkles,
restoring volume and helping to brighten the overall impression.
Because the effect appears immediately,
and because they are good for creating a more three-dimensional face,
many people seek them out.
But not every area is equally suitable. For example,
the temples, forehead, chin, and front cheek are areas
where the degree of hollowing is relatively clear,
and in many cases the procedure is safer and the results
look more natural.
In particular, areas like the temples, which tend to hollow out easily
with aging, can make a big difference in appearance
with fillers alone.

On the other hand, the under-eye area and nasolabial folds
require caution.
In the under-eye area, where the skin is thin
or there is fat protrusion, the filler may show through,
clump, and look unnatural.
For nasolabial folds, if the cause is not simply hollowing
but rather reduced elasticity and sagging,
filler alone has limitations.
It can end up looking heavier,
or bulging awkwardly like a “Snoopy effect.”

So when deciding where to get filler,
the key is not simply the area you personally want,
but, from a medical perspective, “which area in the current face
will show the most noticeable change?”
Area-by-area effects explained through papers
In actual papers, the differences in filler effects by area
are clearly shown as well.

Comparative clinical study for the efficacy and safety of two
different hyaluronic acid-based fillers with Tri-Hyal versus
Vycross technology: A long-term prospective randomized
clinical trial
In a clinical study conducted over 18 months
with 98 participants,
two hyaluronic acid fillers were compared:
ART FILLER Volume and Juvéderm Voluma.
They were injected into the temples, midface, jawline, and chin
to evaluate the effects.

The result showed that the area with the best effect was the “chin.”
Even 540 days after injection, that is, 18 months later,
improvement was maintained in 73% of subjects,
and skin density also increased significantly.
This was followed by the temples at 62%, the midface at 55%,
and the jawline at 53%.

clinical results on the temple at D0, D270, and D540
after a single injection of ART FILLER® Volume on

Also, ART FILLER Volume generally showed fewer inflammatory reactions
and a greater effect on increasing skin density,
earning favorable evaluations in terms of safety and longevity.
What this paper suggests is that, rather than the brand,
the effects of filler vary greatly depending on the area.
In other words, the more important question is not
“which filler is used,” but “where it is injected.”
What matters in filler procedures?
When I consult with patients, there is a question I always ask.
“When you look in the mirror, which area catches your eye first?”
This is not just about choosing a treatment area;
it is an important way to understand which impression
that person most wants to improve.
![Filler Effects by Area? This Was the Best Spot [Paper Attached] image 7](https://pub-9f2bb3498faf4d1d8714b41df24753e3.r2.dev/content/clinics/archive/xi9d99vh0w/naver_blog/yecpfbyxdja_021621/assets/by_hash/91b1975dcc33a3100952dc8e4ad187abcab9d4cb2242133dda65950ba9fb429f.jpg)
At the same time, I also consider whether that area
is truly a structure that responds well to filler,
and whether another approach might be more appropriate.
Because even if it is the area the patient wants most,
if it is not medically suitable,
satisfaction is bound to be lower.
In the end, filler is not simply about “filling in”
but about “where, how, and how much” to fill.
To design that properly, you need to fully understand
facial structure
and be able to comprehensively assess each person’s age,
fat layer, skin elasticity, and more.

The reason areas like the chin and temples showed good results in the paper
is that they are relatively predictable areas.
In other words, only when there is a “strategy that fits me”
do fillers lead to natural and long-lasting results.
Today, we looked at which areas are effective for filler injections,
and
what actual cases looked like through the paper results.
The conclusion is clear. More important than the brand is “where it is injected,”
and even more important than that is the process of determining
“which area on my face is currently the most effective.”

You do not become more beautiful just by filling in randomly.
When you understand the volume structure of the face
and set a strategy that suits your own face,
a natural and refined impression is finally completed.
If you ever find yourself thinking that you wish
your reflection looked a little more three-dimensional, or a little brighter,
don’t hesitate too much and I recommend visiting for a consultation.
Thank you for reading this long post. :)
