Introduction to symptoms
Let’s take a look at the pre-treatment photo first. As mentioned above, this was a patient who visited the clinic because of tooth sensitivity. After the examination, we could confirm that the condition had worsened due to severe wear as the tooth roots near the gums were exposed. This symptom can be described as cervical abrasion, which occurs when the thinnest part of the tooth wears down due to occlusal force, bringing the inner nerve of the exposed tooth root closer to the outside and making it feel sensitive. Because of this, the patient was experiencing more tooth sensitivity!

Treatment notes
This is the photo after treatment. A simple filling was done with resin similar in color to the teeth. Just filling it with resin like this can greatly reduce the sensitive symptoms. In this case, the treatment was completed this way, but if the degree of wear is severe, root canal treatment may also be necessary, so we advise receiving treatment in advance before it reaches that point.

Tooth sensitivity can have various causes, including wear of the tooth enamel, gum recession, cavities, and tooth cracks.
If you are experiencing sensitivity, it is best to visit a dental clinic for a consultation and receive the appropriate treatment as quickly as possible. Jongno Dental Clinic advises that if it is left untreated for a long time, other oral problems may arise, so it is important to take care of it.
