An analysis comparing real before-and-after changes
“Is it okay to get veneers at this age?” “I’m worried they’ll look too obvious or artificial.”
These are the questions midlife patients ask most often.
To put it simply, midlife veneers are a treatment that aims not to make you look younger, but to make your teeth look more polished.

🔹 Case description ① Before condition
As people age, the dentin inside the teeth gradually thickens, and the teeth become more yellow.
On top of that, stains from coffee, tea, wine, and other sources make them look even darker.
② Treatment plan
-
Avoid excessive whitening
-
Make only minimal adjustments to tooth length (slightly longer so the upper front teeth show more when smiling, as requested)
-
Choose a shade that suits the patient’s age and facial tone (the face was fair and bright, so a slightly brighter shade was selected)
-
Design the line with gum exposure in mind (correct the lowered gum line as much as possible)
-
Minimal-preparation veneers (the technique is to achieve maximum adhesion with minimal tooth reduction)
The after photo was taken one year after use, and the veneers have been maintained without significant staining.
I think the key point of veneers is that even just polishing the teeth makes the smile look much neater when smiling.
And as people get older, the nerves recede and the dentin layer becomes thicker, so there is also a lower chance of sensitivity during veneer treatment. In that sense, it may actually be a very good treatment for seniors.
