Front Tooth Implant Period: A Real Surgical Case
Hello, this is Seoul Centum Dental Clinic.
When people think of implants, they often
think of the molar area.
Just as cavities can also occur in front teeth,
there are of course cases where implants are placed in front teeth as well.
However, the front teeth are a visible area in daily life,
so there are many aspects that require extra attention.
Today, I’ll explain step by step
how long treatment actually takes in such cases
and what points need to be considered.

Consultation Details
In this case, the tooth had already been lost,
so the patient visited with the understanding
that an implant was needed.
They had lost front teeth and molars,
and the gums had also receded significantly overall.
Because a complex treatment plan was needed,
we explained everything step by step along with the X-ray images.
(On X-rays, left and right appear reversed.)
🦷 Current Condition & Treatment Plan 🦷
---
(1) Current condition🔹 One front tooth and 3 molars missing🔹 Gums have receded significantly overall🔹 Not enough space for placement in the upper right area
(2) Treatment plan🔹 Place implants for 1 front tooth and 2 molars🔹 Gum treatment & cavity treatment needed🔹 Sinus lift needed in the upper left

Starting Front Tooth Implant Treatment
After diagnosis and consultation,
the patient wished to begin treatment right away,
so we performed same-day placement surgery.
In cases like this, because the treatment starts quickly,
the overall treatment period can be shortened.
A total of 3 implants were placed,
and because the gum condition was not good,
bone grafting was also performed.
In addition, a sinus lift was also needed
on the upper left side to create space
for implant placement.
You can find out what sinus surgery is
and what the precautions are
in this post^^
Today, I’ll focus only on
implant treatment.

Treatment Progress
For those who are curious about the implant period and the progress,
I’ll explain in a little more detail.
In this patient’s case, bone grafting was also performed,
and because the gum condition was not good,
there was a need to wait long enough.
This was also a case that required a second surgery,
so just before the second procedure,
we took a CT scan to check whether the jawbone had formed well,
and then proceeded.
The observation period varies depending on the individual,
and for this patient, we decided to make the prosthesis after 4 months.
(For reference, a case I posted recently
was made after 2 months.)

Front Tooth Implant Completed
After gum treatment was performed for each area,
the molar prostheses were restored first.
The front tooth was made last.
Although the timing differed,
everything was completed successfully.
In this case, we also performed the particularly difficult
sinus lift procedure,
and because it involved a front tooth,
we also had to pay attention to esthetics.
Through sufficient communication with the patient
and careful follow-up checks,
we were able to achieve a good result^^

Successful Front Tooth Implant Result
The total period took a little over 4 months.
I would like to emphasize once again
that this can vary from person to person~
While coming in for surgery checkups,
we also carried out cavity treatment and periodontal treatment without missing anything,
so the patient was also satisfied with the results.
After the implant prosthesis is finally placed,
we provide regular checkups
to assess not only the treated area
but also the overall condition of the mouth.
If you have any more questions about front tooth implants or other treatments,
please leave a comment.
We will kindly answer them.
Thank you.
