Hello,
A place that creates a comfortable face
rather than an excessive change.
This is Easyham Dermatology.
Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of questions like, “When is the best time to get lifting?” Many people hesitate to undergo the procedure because of the cold weather. But after reading this post today, you may think differently. You’ll come to understand that winter is actually the optimal season for lifting. If you care about your skin’s health, now is the starting point.
A beauty consultation that is truly beneficial
I’m dermatologist Lee Yu-deuk.
Why lifting works well in winter
is something you should know.
“Doctor, is it okay to do it in winter?”
Not long ago, I met a patient in the exam room.
They were in their late 40s, and they said that lately, every time they looked in the mirror, they were very bothered by their jawline becoming less defined and the loss of firmness in their cheeks.
“I’ve actually been thinking about it since summer, but I kept putting it off, and now it’s already winter. Is it still okay to get it done now? It’s cold out, so won’t my skin become even drier?”
There was a lot of worry in the patient’s voice.
It was a mix of regret over the time they had spent hesitating and concern about whether they should start now.
I began explaining slowly to the patient.
In fact, winter is the best time to consider lifting.

A season free from ultraviolet rays
When talking about why lifting works well in winter, the first thing to think about is ultraviolet rays.
After lifting, the skin temporarily becomes more sensitive.
If it is exposed to strong UV rays at this time, it can irritate the skin and cause side effects such as pigmentation.
In winter, as the sun’s angle lowers, the intensity of UV rays becomes significantly weaker than in summer.
It’s like the difference between the intense summer sun and the mild spring sunshine.
In addition, people tend to spend less time outdoors in winter, and naturally cover their face with a hat, mask, or scarf, making UV protection much easier.
When I explained this to the patient, they said, “Now that I think about it, even in summer, no matter how much sunscreen I apply before going out, sweat washes it off quickly.
There’s less to worry about in winter.”
That was exactly the point.

The difference in effect created by temperature
To explain why lifting works well in winter, we can’t leave out temperature.
Lifting is a method that delivers energy to the deeper layers of the skin, and at this time, the outside temperature plays an important role.
Think about it.
When you place a hot heating pad on yourself, the warmth lasts longer on a cold winter day than on a hot summer day, right?
Lifting works on a similar principle.
Thanks to the low temperatures in winter, the skin surface stays cool, allowing the delivered energy to work more deeply and more efficiently.
By contrast, in summer, the high temperature and humidity mean the skin surface is already warmer.
If energy is delivered in this state, not only does efficiency drop, but the feeling of heat and swelling can also last longer.
It’s like the difference between adding hot water to hot water and adding hot water to cold water.
The patient nodded and said, “So that’s why when I had another procedure in summer, the swelling was especially worse and the heat lasted longer.”

An environment that protects the golden time for skin regeneration
Another reason lifting works well in winter shows up in the recovery process.
After lifting, our skin begins its own regeneration process.
The process of new collagen being formed and firmness being restored takes about three months.
During this period, the skin is like a building under construction and is vulnerable to outside irritation.
Strong UV rays, high temperatures, and a lot of sweat can all be interfering factors.
In particular, UV rays are the main culprit behind the destruction of our skin’s collagen.
What if you start in December?
By January and February, and then by March, the skin regenerates to its best condition.
During the cold winter months, without worrying about UV rays or sweat, your skin can have enough time to recover.
By the time spring flowers bloom, your skin is blooming into its most beautiful state as well.
“So if I start now, my skin will be in its best condition in spring?”
There was anticipation in the patient’s voice.

Dryness can actually be an advantage
Many people worry about winter dryness.
But did you know that this dryness can actually be helpful?
High humidity and sweat in summer can create various skin problems.
When you sweat a lot, pores can become clogged easily, and a humid environment is also favorable for bacterial growth.
By contrast, in winter there is less sweat, so the skin stays cleaner, and there is less outside irritation.
Of course, moisturizing care must be thorough. But that is something you should do regardless of the season.
In fact, in winter, people tend to feel the dryness of their skin more strongly, so they pay more attention to moisturizing.
Because indoor heating is on and humidifiers are used, and because cream is applied more carefully, care naturally becomes more consistent.
The patient also agreed, saying, “That’s true. In summer I just apply cream quickly because it feels sticky, but in winter I pay more attention because my skin gets dry.”

Beauty that time gives as a gift
As I wrapped up the conversation with the patient, we talked about this.
The skin does not change overnight.
We see dermatology care not simply as treatment, but as a process of completing your beauty.
What matters most is naturalness without excess and long-lasting trust.
Because every skin type is different, Easyham first focuses on making a diagnosis tailored to each person’s skin.
After the consultation, as the patient was leaving, they said this:
“After hearing what you said, doctor, winter feels like an opportunity after all.
I should stop putting it off and make time for my skin.”

Now, the best time for your skin
Are you considering lifting in winter?
Are you worried about the cold weather?
But for the skin, winter is the best season for recovery and regeneration.
Weak UV rays, low temperatures, less sweat, natural protection, and enough recovery time.
All of these conditions are perfectly in place in winter.
Winter, with no intense summer heat or spring yellow dust, gives the skin time to care for itself fully.
Do the time you spent hesitating feel wasted?
That’s okay. This moment is the starting point.
The cold winter wind can become the warmest gift for your skin.
When spring comes, you’ll find yourself smiling brightly in the mirror.
For that smile, don’t miss the opportunity that winter gives you.
Your skin will respond beautifully in proportion to the time you’ve given it.
